Re: ChromeCast Anyone?
Okay. So I got mine and set it up. Wasn't a super easy setup as my computer wasn't connected through WiFi but plugged into the router. Used my phone to add to the network and it was found by the computer after that.
Love the fact that I can mirror my whole desktop and doesn't have to plugin my computer into the HDMI. Still exploring.
Re: ChromeCast Anyone?
I bought ChromeCast and have not been able to set up yet. Tried many times. Pushed reset button a few times both through the computer and on the device itself
. And even though it gives different 4 digits identity codes every time and communicates from the computer and saying it is connected, I still could not see computer screen on TV.
I must be doing something wrong or missing.
I have it attached through USB power on HDMI port of my TV.

Connect the chrome cast through the power plug. And you might need the chrome cast application for android or iOS devices.

Chromecast will need to be setup on the wifi and the computer should be connected to it. It was easier for me to connect it through my android phone on the same wifi.
Re: ChromeCast Anyone?
When you're setting up ChromeCast (CC) you need a wifi enabled computer. What happens is CC creates its own accesspoint and your computer connects to it and lets you configure it. If you try to do this with a desktop with no wifi it won't work.

You are powering the CC with USB power? Why not just plug it in the wall.

Thank you all for kind suggestions and comments.
Some good news.
I have connected it to wall power through USB connection and connected the device to TV via HDMI port.
So far I have made progress to be able to broadcast from my Windows 8.2 desktop and my cellphone, but only through YouTube app. Whatever I play on YouTube, is now seen on my TV. YouTube app lets me choose if I want to play it on desktop/cellphone or on Chromecast enabled TV.
Still trying to see if I can see my computer screen on the TV.
Both PC-Windows based-Dell/All in one Desktop and my Apple Laptop computers, have not been able to connect on it. Both are on WiFi.
I have downloaded Chromecast app on both computers and looked for ChromeCast device on both computers, but cannot find it despite both computers are on Wifi.
Anyways, some progress has been made. Yay! :)
Re: ChromeCast Anyone?
There's not a whole bunch of apps for it yet. For now its Netflix, Youtube and Google Chrome (single tab). I heard mention of HBO-Go and Roku but haven't seen those yet. More coming soon.
Function over form my friend. Not even one I lost my apple tv remote in last one year
Re: ChromeCast Anyone?
