The past week or everytime I go to FB or GS and a few other websites the following message/error pops up.
I’ve tried to click, install missing plug-in but nothing happen. I clicked on the “problems installing” and installed both windows media player and java and checked that both were installing properly (which they were). I deleted and re-downloaded Chrome but nothing seems to work. The websites load/work properly but the silly popup annoys me and I want to get rid of it. Anyone know whats going on?
Some ppl on twitter were complaining about this a while back. This might have to do with the Skype extension in Chrome that’s been acting up. Don’t know if it’s the case for you, but you can try disabling that extension and see if it helps.
You are a WEBmister and you are telling me to stop using internet gasp
Yay, it worked thanks LC - sheesh it was annoying and simple disable was all it took…who would’ve known. I can always count on you and tofi as my technology experts.
Most of these errors are because of stupid ads that play on the sides or bottom of the page. If you are not really missing any of the functionality don’t worry about it. Even on my bank’s website some crap flash module would try to play and ofcourse I have it all blocked so it goes crazy.
A lot of times you’d stop getting that error if you hit refresh and the ad (which are dynamic) would change to a different one and the new one won’t need the said plugin.
Well, it was definitely skype this time and I wasn’t worried but it was just annoying but glad its fixed now. Will keep the ad thing in mind, if I have a similar problem in the future.
