I actually agree with this too.
We know a few people who do trees…I think its just a tribute to Christmas because they grew up with it. Plus people generally love this time of the year so they get into it.
As far as celebrating…there is a family dinner. Its an excuse to do what we do best…which is eat. We go shopping, go downtown to see the tree, drive around to see the lights/displays (this is more for the kids now) and when we were younger Macy’s (back when it was Marshall Field’s) did a really pretty story book display in their downtown location. Their entire building lined with these huge windows and they told a fairy tale in those windows…like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.
