Re: Christmas List
So when is his birthday then? And who said we can’t celebrate birthdays? Erm, i thought we were supposed to have milads n stuff on any Prophets’ birthday, that’s a form of celebration too isn’t it? Well, anyway this isn’t the Religion forum so forget it.
Re: Christmas List
hahaha... no wonder u think desi men dont buy expensive gifts.
if any one ever gave me a post-it note... christmas or no christmas i will tell them to shove it where the sun dont shine. but then again..south indians do it differently than us Pakistanies.
Re: Christmas List
PCG, by cheap I thought you were talking about something that doesn't cost more then $10.00. Sticky notes is really cheap.
Re: Christmas List
^ Hey man. Those things are so expensive. They average out to one dollar per pad. :o
I wait till they come on sale like for 8 dollars for like 10 pads to buy them. :o :o :o
Re: Christmas List
For kicks, give them a lota and see if they can figure out what the hell it's for...hehee...
Anyway, we all know boxing day is the more important day...
err, for us at least...
Re: Christmas List
Who would have thought an innocent Christmas shopping ideas thread would develop into an argument about FOBS ![]()
If you’re looking for cheap gifts for the holiday season, then Wal Mart is your best friend.
Re: Christmas List
When’s his brothday? Even the Christians couldn’t tell you that, half celebrate it on the 25th of December, others on January the 7th, then there’s others who have realised it’s adopted from the pagans and don’t celebrate it all.
We’re not suppose to celebrate Milad un-Nabi :saw: or Milad ul-Maseeh :as:, love and remember them both every day and follow concentrate on the message they want us to follow.
Re: Christmas List
And the milad ISN'T a requirement to celebrate, thats something desis have made up!
Re: Christmas List
^ But wats' wrong with celebrating it?
Re: Christmas List
I didn't say it was wrong, I just said its something made-up later on.
Re: Christmas List
I dont think anyone could be commiting a great sin remembering prophets BUT theres a ayah and a hadith or several hadiths that say not to follow non-muslim traditions.
Re: Christmas List
And I would love it if someone could pull refs out
Thank you very much.
Re: Christmas List
If you want to argue about the ethics of celebrating Christmas, why are you messing in this thread?
No, I dont wanna go to Walmart. Actually, I have already been there and back. I went with ideas that were relatively cheap. I had some coupons and deals from the post-thanksgiving sales, so I went with those.
And basic stuff that I know people need. Like I got some office supplies, and no not post-its, but some machine that can be used. Also, I went for plants this time. I got this nice gardenia for my mom. It cost 15 bucks, but whatever, its worth it.
I did get office supplies from some people at work, and I'll tell you, those are the best gifts, honestly. I'd spend my money on that stuff ANYWAY, so why not get that sort of thing as a gift. Saves me money in the long run?
Oh, and what's also popular, is gift certificates to resteraunts. You can easily get away with 20-25 dollar gift certificate, because hell, that's the price of an average meal plus maybe an appetizer anyway.
And books. Books make great gifts, and if you pick the right paperback book, you don't really need to spend more than 10 or 11 dollars.
And they're not BAD gifts to give. So anyone have any such ideas other than the ones I mentioned? I'm going to go on a major shopping spree after Christmas is over, so I can stockpile on gift items.
Yeah and bath/body stuff is great too. Cheap lotions, antibacterial stuff etc etc. Last year, here is what I did. I went to bathbody and got like lots and lots of items. Then thru the year, as people had b-days, etc etc, I gave them out. I still have like 6 lotions in my "gift drawer", that I can just pull out an item, box it up, and hand it to someone on any occasion.

Re: Christmas List
LOL ![]()
I love you zakk
what do you want from Santa
the is a saying which says its better(?) to give than to receive .....which in my opinion is total nonsense
if a strange obese jolly man was to provide you with the material goods you want
what would you ask for
I want a pneumatic drill
Re: what do you want from Santa
I think kids should not be told at a young age that there is some red jolly giant who rides a sleigh and delivers presents. The earlier they learn the difference between what is real and what is fantasy, the better.
I wonder why parents tell their kids there is something called Santa and then when they are 8 or 9 tell them that it was a lie. The parents lose credibility :p
