Christian League of Pakistanis in US lauds President Musharraf’s policies
WASHINGTON, Dec 14 (APP): A delegation of the Christian League of Pakistanis in the United States, led by its President Anjum Bhatti, met with Ambassador Mahmud Ali Durrani as they appreciated President Pervez Musharraf’s policies for well being of the Christian community and expressed their unequivocal support for him.
The delegates said President Musharraf’s policies led to betterment of the Christian community in Pakistan and that they fully stand behind him.
Dr. Emmanuel Nasir, moderator of the Council of South Asian Churches, stated under President Musharraf, the government made serious efforts to introduce legislation protecting the rights of the Pakistani Christian community.
He informed the envoy the Pakistani Christian clergy in the US is arranging a meeting to express their gratitude to the president for his support for the Christian and other minorities in Pakistan. Ambassador Durrani appreciated the role played by the Christian community in socio-economic development of Pakistan, especially the contribution the missionary schools made to education system of the country.
He also praised the role of the Pakistani Christian community in the United States, which, he said, is a very important part of the Pakistani diaspora.

Why would the dictator need to protect them if they didnt need it? But we all know Musharaf is a liar, so Christians shouldnt expect much...
