Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan**

… Virginia-based World Help has raised $70,000 to place Muslim children in a Christian orphanage near Jakarta. But the group’s president, the Rev. Vernon Brewer said it suspended fund-raising on Wednesday after Indonesia said Muslim children could not be raised in a non-Muslim home.

“Once we realized that the government was not going to grant permission yesterday we took that fund-raising appeal off of our Web site,” Brewer said in a telephone interview with Reuters.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

Like I said - The xtian missionary motto is "Salvation for a bowl of soup". They will only help you if you convert.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

Since they are such a good-hearted charitable organization, and they raised all these funds for the good of Indonesian children, so they should give all the funds raised already to the Indonesian government to run a muslim orphanage. Right? :)

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

Yeah, they should follow the example of the good-hearted Muslim charitable organizations that raise funds for the good of Christian children and give it to run Christian orphanages, right?

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

If the muslim charitable organizations raised the funds to help the christian children, yes. After all I am sure they have the best interest of the children in their hearts, like these good christian folks here.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

well since the pious Muslims don't want "dirty Krischun" money, cuz they want to keep those kids "pure".... are they doing anything for these orphans themselves?

I don't have any statistics.. but I have a feeling Muslim adoption records are abysmal when compared to the 'unholy Krischuns'.. which would be ironic cuz the Muslim Holy Book stresses on a society which encourages adoption and caring for Orphans.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

So if Muslim organizatoins never even raise any funds for Christian children, does that mean they don’t have the best interest of the children in their hearts?

I’m sure that according to Christians the best interests for Muslim children is to introduce them to Jesus Christ and raise them so they will find salvation. Similarly, Muslims believe children need to be raised Muslim for their best interests.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

I am not aware of any muslim organization (there may be a few I don’t know) whose aim is to grab christian/hindu/jew/whatever orphan kids from around the world and raise them as muslims in a muslim orphanage.

These faith-based charities should either stick to their own people, or if they infact want to be cross-faith, then they should keep the human interest supreme and not link their charity to a condition that the other person should convert to their faith.

I know many muslim organizations who raise funds for disasters world wide, and in many cases where the disasters occured in non-muslim countries, they will work with other international charities (Red Cross etc) and pass on the funds to them so they can send them to the disaster area and help the victims. The funds are not linked to the condition that the victims convert to Islam before they get a bowl of soup.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

It's pretty pathetic when you have to sell your religion via food to starving children.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

what's more pathetic? being oblivious to the needs of children of your religion...

I hate this religion crap.. can't we help kids just cuz they are in need? do they HAVE To be of the same religion?

Why on earth would u stop someone form helping one in need? just cuz they are of a different religion? doesn't it become incumbent on you right there and then to provide the same if not better help yourself?

ask these kids if they have to grow up without food, shelter or care if they would have objected to being helped by Christians when they were in need as kids.... i'm sure they need warm clothing and a roof over their head more than this shallow urge to belong to a certain religious group..

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

Wow, PA, I think you are the first truly enlightened moderate I have ever seen.

If the children's welfare is what truly is foremost here, then why not just spend the money on them? Why this pre-requisite of living in an orphanage? If you ask the children? LOL, I am sure 3 year olds are perfectly capable of making responsible decisions for themselves.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

There goes the christian perverts' plan to adopt and molest asian children......

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

errrm spend the money on them how? distribute candies? well that takes care of one evening… maybe the Ummah has some other smart plans up their sleeves how to deal with the problem of the morning after, and after that, and the other years to come.. remember, these are orphans who are gonna stay that way throughout their lives.. “spend some money” on them isn’t like handing them a $100 bill and waving goodbye.

If the Ummah can’t help, it should get out of the way of those who can.

Re: Christian Group Drops Indonesia Orphanage Plan

PA : and how do you know that the ummah is not helping ?

Many Masajids are still collecting money for tsunami victims. Most of the non-muslim charities have stopped advertizing for tsunami relief efforts. Please have some compassion for your own muslims and try to find, if not 72 excuses, just one excuse. Don't paint the whole of the umah with one brush - you certainly wont do that to the christian orgs.
