Christian fundamentalists vs Islamic fundamentalists

Which one is more dangerous?

Fighting a two front war is never an easy task, but which group is more dangerous to the United States?

Over the next two weeks or such I hope to point out what dangers these two groups pose to the U.S. currently and in future. In the meantime it would be interesting to see what opinions of those here hold.

what about secular fundamentalists?

No difference other than the facial hair but I think (I am not sure though) Christian fundamentalists make up for that in other parts.

Christian, Islamic, secular fundies are all sootias :)

fundementalists

the Islamic fundamentalists are the visible answer, but when one analises it deeply, one will see that is the Christian fundamentalists who have made the islamic fundamentalists seem dangerous, and it is the christsians who (partially) caused the iraq war - just think of all the times that president g w. bush prayed for whatever reason.

I wish the us politicians took their secularism seriously, and kept the state and religion seperated.... but, of course, if they did, all of our politicians would be athiests, and, though i myself am atheist, I must admit... most atheists are incredibly ignorant and unmature, who have only undergone an apostasy to conform to what they think is cool, as presented by this bloody marilin manson rock-music culture of amerika.

So it would seem.

Well I have my answer now.

I give the nod to Christian fundamentalists, only because they have the strength of the US army behind them. However, if Muslims get a dirty bomb then I would have to reassess...

They both are same with some statistical diferences.

One would fly airliners into the buildings and kill some 3000 innocent people. Other would drop Daisy cutters and smart bombs and kill some 55,000 people.

The Islamic fundies harm the United States via terror attacks, the Christian fundies are doing it by infecting the political system of the United States. Who's more dangerous, the fundamentalist outside your house or the fundamentalist inside running your house?

Any extreme is bad in any religion.

Unfortunately there are pocket handfuls of people all over being taught and teaching that their religion is the "right" one and they must save the rest of the world from themselves. This is a failing in all religions and especially the one's that are taught that they are their brother's keeper.

You see this in the slander of the Islamic world in America (all working class Muslims being terrorists, just bomb them all), you see this in the dismissing of a life if someone is "kaffir" (since they aren't one of us, it is permissible to kill), and now, thanks to the US elections, we will begin to see this in our government and laws.

UTD, I must appreciate your affort of understanding and learning. I think you are one of the very few who have understood it and have learned a lot since they have joined this site. I appreciate this not just coz it favours my thinking but it has some sensible and very deep thoughts behind it.
This is a good sign and just hoped others would see it like that way as well.
Hats off to you!!

UTD, why do you think that US Politics has been infiltrated by the Christian Fundos? Is it because all the middle states in 2004 elections were red (republican).
Just my opinion with no basis; Maybe the US population (mostly the mid state) thinks that Islam is at war with US (and nothing wrong with that thinking, OBL himself has said that). So what better way of fighting it, elect Bush he supposedly has a red phone hooked to God and God speaks with him.

I'd like to see this as a pay-per-view event. It would draw a better rating than the superbowl.

Christian fundamentalists inside are creating more Islamic fundamentalist outside. So inside fundamentalism needs to be taken care of first in order to stop outside fundamentalism.
