how does christian community live in pakistan?.. how are they treated by the majority? well, here is the description.
Re: christian community
they are discriminated against. I know of some one who converted to Islam but still her sons used to be discriminated against in schools, they live on the fringes of the society.
Re: christian community
^^ Agr Naji sahib lagay hathooN solution bhi bata daytay tu mehrbaani hoti
What terrorist and their sponsor wants?
1)They want to exploit the fault lines in Pakistani society, be it Sunni Vs Shia, All Vs Wahabi, All Vs Deobandi, Mohajir vs Local, Baloch Vs Punjabi and goes on, this attack was not different... the purpose was to divide the nation and it was done or not, we would find out
2) Christians treated as Achoot and are poor, well same can be said 60% muslim population in Pakistan, they live in almost same living condition.. and lets not forget here, Christians also have good positions and businesses in Pakistan, Gora Qabristan on Jail Road is one example, where the same Christians won't let these "Achoot" to be burried. Naji sahib need to visit Lahore and Missionary Schools and hospitals..
3) Things are not perfectly OK in Pakistan The Rich Qadyani also suffer, the poor Sunni also suffer, the Shia is also suffering, the Wahabi is also suffering and all of them are trying hard to meet the ends. When he says that these Christians do not have enough resources to go out of country, does he want to say that Govt of Pakistan does not issue them Passports??? I am interested to find out what resources he is talking about? if he means money, then my friend, most of the people sell their assets/belongings and/or take loan and then go out in Gulf or west...
Last not least, Naji sahib need to visit Yohna Abad and other Christian communities residing in Lahore, they are labors, they are workers and they are traders... just that their huge number is in cleaning business doesn't mean every one of them is in this business..
Again not that i am saying everything is perfectly fine in Pakistan, but being in Pakistan and being out of Pakistan, i know there are more chances of developing yourself in Pakistan then they are out of Pakistan.
Re: christian community
^ fair enough...every one knows what the terrorists want, the people have suffered tremendous losses during the past decade and foiled every attempt to convert this into a sectarian war. With the passage of time and no justice provided what so ever to the victims I don't see how long the people will bear their losses without retaliating.
As far as the way Christians are treated by the community at large I know it well, and is close to what naji has written in his article.
For a start let's find out if justice has been provided to Christians of Joseph colony, gojra and the couple burnt on blasphemy charges?
Re: christian community
hani i wanted to answer your post but then i simply copied your post and emailed to naji sahib with a request to respond to it in his next column…he was kind enough to write a second column on this topic right away and reponsed to some of your questions. please read his response below. I in particularly requested naji sahib to address your first point that terrorists want to divide the nation and it is a conspiracy. On some points he agreed with you but on some he did not.

He missed my main point! that is what is THE solution?
Let me put some recent incidents related to 1st world...
Did Naji sahib know about " Occupy Wall Street" movement, the movement which was launched in the most Democratic country, where even animals have rights let alone humans.. what happened there? it was peaceful movement, way more peaceful then PTI's or PAT's so-called peaceful protests, protesters here were protesting peacefully and US security apparatus made a JOINT TERRORISM TASK FORCE to look into the matter... and why was it... because they were protesting against the gathering of wealth to 1% ??? why didn't media gave it coverage??? why not much written on it??? why it was suppressed by using state power???
Earlier in 20th century, Marxist movement came out, they were sick of same thing.. i.e. wealth and power in few hands and remaining are virtual slaves who makes money for that minority??? what happened then, the wealthy were eliminated and new wealthy class came into being begin the same thing they one protested??? yeah that revolution failed ... and so was french revolution..
coming back to Pakistan, where the RONA-DHONA is what we do, can anyone tell me why the poor is poor? and how come in Pakistan one person who is labor have got no family wealth, have got no political connection, in matter of 15 years becomes millionaire? and no this person is not one in million, he is one in tens.. and only different is, this particular person decided to give up crying and do something about it.. he worked 14-18 hours a day... never crossed his mind that selling balloons outside a Illama Iqbal Park can be embarrassing, never thought that selling Samosas in Moon Market can be tabooo, never thought selling cloths in LANDA and that on a cart can be disrespectful, he just worked and changed his fate...
Now what is stopping others to work??? tell you about another person, his father passed away when he was in pampers, her mother use to do chores and he use to sell bangles in evening at a shop in Fortress Stadium Lahore, all he had that attitude, which differs between a whiner and achiever, e never went to Achithison or to any private school... there was a teacher in the area who use to give him tuition for 2 hours on daily basis... today when i met this few months back, he is successful business man, he provide consultancy to setup schools in and out of Pakistan...
millions stories are there to tell both of muslims and non-muslims who decided to write their own fate.. Iqbal says, Khudi ker Bulan itna.. and this guys are practical picture of the same.
What Naji sahib is saying is true, there is social injustice.... and it is going to there unless somebody do something about it... can Naji Sahib tell us what to do???
I have given example of people who had different attitude and got what they dreamed or wanted... what about those who just call them a victim and every person in a car or is better then them an abuser.. because that is what Naji sahib is trying to say...
Baloch, let me tell this to you, Baloch in Oman, UAE and Kuwait (mostly from Pakistan) do not like to work, in most houses, their women work and they just sit and enjoy their lives. GoP with Iranian Govt launched few projects in Balochistan, industrial projects they were, what happened, projects need to be closed/shifted because to unavailability of the local manpower, 2nd reason, the lords of tribe never allowed it and when GoP pressed on them they went of rebellion.
I can carry on and on, but few things i would like to ask Naji Sahib,
1) Would he sit with the guy "ChoRa" and eat with him? and/or share a house or bathroom with him?
2) Since he is dying with the pain of these deprived people, can he help them find jobs? i need few, but it is very difficult to find manpower, skilled or unskilled committed to work or loyal to their work.. can he help them because only then these people can change their lives.
3) Can Naji sahib tell us, have GoP refused them the passport??? so they cannot go abroad and have some decent living? ( I Know in Kuwat certain people are not allowed to have a passport or ID card and they do not exist on govt's paper, are these being treated in same manner?)
4) Most of these are govt employees, their duty includes cleaning the roads and keep them clean... and we have to get a company from Turkey to keep the roads clean.. why???? simple reason, they like many other "poors" just do not want to work and want salary for free...
Last but not least, these people even fight with each other when few of them are paid to do so!!!! so lets not get into it..
i think i better close it here
