NEW DELHI: Friday’s bomb blast in a multi-storeyed building in Karachi’s Kawish Plaza owned by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim appears to be the handiwork of the Chhota Rajan gang, intelligence sources told the Times of India here on Monday.

Two persons were killed and several critically injured when the blast occurred around 7.45 AM at the main entrance of the Plaza. The building, which contains many offices was largely empty at the time or else the toll may have been higher, sources added.

Chhota Rajan, who is said to be an arch enemy of Dawood, had reportedly sent his men from Bangkok to blast the shopping mall as he had information that Dawood was to visit the building for renovation purposes.

“The statement by Pakistan interior minister Faisal Salah Hayat about the involvement of a foreign hand also confirms that this is the result of gang war between Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Rajan,” a senior intelligence official said.

The two underworld ganglords used to work together at one time but fell out after the Mumbai blasts. Thereafter, the two gangs have been at loggerheads. In fact, Dawood’s men had even attacked Rajan in Bangkok a few years ago but Rajan had escaped while his men were killed in the attack. Since then, the Chhota Rajan gang has been attacking Dawood where it hurts the most.

Dawood owns a number of buildings in Karachi and is said to be living in a palatial house called Moin Palace on the second floor opposite Abdullah Shah Ghazi Dargah in the posh locality of Clifton. Dawood is one among the 20 men on the list of criminals and terrorists wanted back by India from Pakistan. The Pakistan government has maintained that Dawood was not in Pakistan. “If Dawood, who is wanted in connection with the Mumbai serial blasts along with some of the members of his family, was returned then this violence in Pakistan could significantly go down”, intelligence sources stressed.

I just wonder how long Pakistan is going to deny that Dawood is living in Pakistan.

Re: Chota Rajan gang suspected behind Karachi blast

Asif[K] but how does this prove Dawood is in Pakistan? You yourself said that US law officials and agents lurk around in Pakistan aiding Pakistans security to deal with criminals and terrorists? If I were dawood, Id hide in a better location than Pakistan, which is the center of attention during these times…

Spock read the following and decide for yourself :-

RAW hand in blast of Dawood’s Plaza

Karachi, July 12 (ANI): India’s external intelligence gathering agency - The Research And Analysis Wing (RAW)- has been accused of having a hand in the destruction of a multi-storied complex allegedly owned by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Well-placed intelligence sources and officials in the Pakistani establishment told Pakistani daily The News that the bomb explosion at the Kawish Crown Plaza in Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal business district that killed two people was not carried out by any Jihadi outfit or an anti-U.S. group.

“We have ruled out the possibility of involvement of the Jihadis or Al Qaeda elements in this blast as the extremists had no interest in the Kawish Crown Plaza,” a senior Pakistani intelligence source said on condition of anonymity.

“Till date, the Jihadis targeted West-oriented targets like U.S. consulate, French engineers and petrol pumps of foreign franchises,” he added.

The sources disclosed that the plaza was targeted by RAW because they (RAW) believed Dawood Ibrahim owned the building. Ibrahim is wanted by the Indian Government for is alleged involvement in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai that killed nearly 300 people and maimed over 2000 others.

The actual motive behind the blast was not massive destruction of life and property. The bomb went off well before office hours. “If they (the terrorists) wanted to, they could have easily raised the death toll by exploding the device after 9 a.m. Their motive was just to spread panic and terror,” one investigator told the paper.

The RAW was also responsible for other acts of sabotage in Pakistan, including the two bomb blasts at Hyderabad and Quetta. Such acts suggested that RAW was carefully selecting and achieving the destruction of multi-dimensional targets, the sources added.

"The RAW has given a message to Dawood and his ‘bosses’ (read Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence) that he is not safe even in Pakistan," said the sources.

“The RAW network in Pakistan is strengthening day-by-day as some of the main parties covertly supported its agents,” they concluded. (ANI)

Firstly, if you go by the authencity of this article, then you yourself have admitted that RAW is carrying out terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Then you peeps cry about cross border infiltration? You have it coming your way son.

Spock - Do you even know that there is a rumour that Chotta Rajan has been working with RAW to get Dawood and both the stories confirm that rumour.

Also ever heard of a magazine called newsline ?? Well it is a pakistani news magazine and it published some reports in 2001 ‘Portrait of a Don’ & ‘Karachi’s Gang Wars’

"*Karachi’s two rival underworld gangs, both working for the notorious Mumbai don, Dawood Ibrahim, are now settling their scores on the streets of Karachi. Dawood Ibrahim and his team, Mumbai’s notorious underworld clan including his righthand man Chota Shakeel and Jamal Memon, are on India’s most wanted list for a series of bomb blasts in Mumbai and other criminal activites. ** After the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, the gang have made Karachi their new home and base of operations. Living under fake names and IDs, and provided protection by government agencies, they have built up their underworld empire in Karachi *employing local talent like Shoaib and Bholoo. "

Well there is a limit of patience, I think Raw's patience is over.

Are you saying RAW works with terrorists like that underworld don? :hehe:

Point Proven. Even if RAW’s patience is over, we do not care, for we know they cannot do much. And nice to see RAW supporters admitting to terrorist activities :hehe:

It's the news report which says that. Unlike you I am not a supporter of RAW. I know you and your govt dont care about innocents losing their lives(not that our govt does), they are busy with their own agenda of fooling the masses and ruling them.

Good for you. Btw - Did you checkout the Newsline link, it will tell you about Dawood. :)

Btw, you are the one ranting about the achievement of RAW by carrying out the bomb blast arent you? I am a supporter of RAW? RAW represents the actions of your Indian Government, which you fully support.

Spock miyan - stop putting words in my mouth. I dont support any terrorist activity unlike you who supports terrorist organizations like ISI.

Yes I am a supporter of Indian Govt’s foreign policy and I support their instance on Pakistan-Kashmir issue. Btw, It’s nice to see you ignore Dawood Issue, Did you find out where is he living now a days ? :hehe:

if you read your replies carefully you'd notice that it's you who's putting words in his mouth. First he's RAW's supporter, then he's ISI supporter, what's next? he's Hamas' supporter???

Asif, do you condemn this cross border terrorism? :D yes or no answer is all that is required.

People like Dawood and Chota Rajan should be blasted off the face of the earth if Karachi is to ever see peace.

But if the leaders in Pakistan are themselvles members of this or that gang I dont see how this can ever be achieved.

It is very sad to see that the value of human life is lesser it has ever been.

I thought i was a RAW supporter? What a sorry argument you put up.

You have proven nothing. The Indian Govt. just tried its very best to instigate a terrorist activity in Pakistan through the cowardly RAW and achieved nothing (like always). All they did was managed to get two or three people killed.

Gang violence....

Let them kill each other off.

Shame on India

RF Yaar - The answer is always 'YES' no matter who does it. I will be really ashamed if an Indian blasts a bomb in Pakistan.

What about you ? Do you condemn cross Border Terrorism ?? YES/NO will be suffice. No explanation please.

Spock Puttar - Dont avoid the Dawood Issue. Did you read the newsline mag and findout about his whereabouts.

Capt Khan - do you have anything to say about Dawood as well ?

Fayax - I agree.

Who asked Pakistan to Give Shelter to Dawood ?

Why blame India, when Pakistan has not honoured the Red Corner Notice issued by the Interpol against Dawood. Isn't sheltering Dawood and aiding and abetting him to do more crimes in India, in itself, an act of Cross Border Terrorism. What do you expect others to do, sit back and relax and wait Musharraf to take action, when he has flatly denied any presence of him in Pakistan.
