Chosar bazi

What does it mean? Is it Chess (Shatranj)?

Is there any Urdu word for the game ‘Polo’?

Re: Chosar bazi

Re: Chosar bazi

sticks used in chogan look similar to those sticks used in polo

Re: Chosar bazi

May be both are the same games or Polo originated from Chogaan.

Re: Chosar bazi

Looks like Polo to me. :konfused:

In fact I think it is the same sport there…

You know its possible to Play polo in different ways too. In some Areas they play polo on Yaks and cattle. Some in the west Play water polo and you can take that a step further and play it on jet skis…

Re: Chosar bazi

it’s more like ludo i guess…chausar is also called ‘PACHEESI’ and i remember there used to be a pacheesi competition in my village during Club Week [the name of the Club was: Health & Recreation Club [Anjuman-e-seHat o tafreeH] in which games were played, atheletic events held, hunting trips were organized, Mushaa’ira and bait-baazii were held and qawwalis were sung…etc]…it’s a board game…the board was made of cloth called ‘BISAAT’ and the pieces were called ‘PAU, ADDHA’ etc…the dice were actually sea shells [the planin side and the side with slit were used as 4’s or 2’s…] … it looked more like LUDO game, if you have ever played back home!

here is the pic of the pacheesi/chausar board.
