Chori ki saza?

Salam brothers n sisters
A guppan just told me how she has this impulsive behaviour of stealing shoes from a shoestore. She says she can’t help herself when she sees new shoes. She even told me about the tricks she knows, like taking off old shoes in the store and walking out with new ones, when alot of people are leaving the store.

I just want to know, wat’s the punishment for that kinda behaviour? And what if the person has a psychological problem? Is the action still considered a grave sin?

Please do respond.

loll :rotfl:

I’ve seen stuff like that on “Britians Dumbest Criminals”.

Don’t they have CCTV in that shop?

I asked for a fatwa please.

Are you serious or just kidding around?

cut the hands...

Actually Zulfiqar asked a good question. Does that friend really can do it so easily?

If it is true then the friend needs some medical or psychological help perhaps.

you have to be a muftee in order to issue a fatwa, and i dont think we have any muftees around on gupshup.

I would suggest that your friend should visit a psychiatric ASAP before she get caught and Poori family Kee Naak Katt Jaaye ;)

well the simple fatwa about stealing is cut the hands. whether someone likes it or not.

Aap logo.n ko fatwa sun-ney ka bara shouq hai :hoonh:

Kia bara maza aata hai ?

Here no one is authorize to issue any decree. You can only disscus. There is no need for any fatwa here, just some medical/psychological treatment.

what do you need the fatwa for, to tell her about punishment so she stops? what exactly do you need it for? just curious

It varies from one countries law to another. To my knowledge there is no set law that says your hands should be cut off if you have stolen. In Saudi Arabia that may happen while in Pakistan its imprisonment, a public lashing. Most of the times people take it upon themselves to serve justice without the court.

Stealing is dishonest, the punishment of it in the life after is severe.
In this life the punishment is dependant on the Law of the country.

I'm not sure what shariah law says about stealing though.

or in this case the feet

she needs therapy more than a fatwa.

"Cut off (from the wrist joint) the (right) hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allah. And Allah is All_Powerful, All_Wise." [Surah Al-Ma'idah:38]

those brackets add substantially to the original meanings don't they.. so what do you think is the significance of 'cutting off' the 'right' hand?? why not the left??

Humsa I am still waiting for a reply to my question. :)
