Zobs, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about it and will keep trying to do the right thing because that is what Islam teaches all of us.
One time this older gentleman was struggling with groceries, he lives in my condo but I don't know him. I saw him on the street and offered to carry some of groceries and we started talking, he told me that he had arthritis and was going to be in much pain after wards and was really grateful. I told him it was nothing but helping a fellow human being in service of G-d. Remember one day we are all going to be old just like that man, so WHY NOT help someone when you can? This is not chivalry, it has nothing to do with gender, and it's really about following the true teachings of Islam. I keep my religion pretty personal, but the best form of dawah is through positive actions to help those in need.
Pak, i never judge ppl, especially when i only have their single action for judgement. in fact i dont judge anyone at all. lol. i am too occupied analyzing my own actions that i dont get chance to see other.
guys still open doors for me. i still give my space to elderly ppl. i do give my cell phone often to ppl so they can make an urgent call, especially once give my cell phone to an immigrant without realizing that its past 9 pm, and its pretty dangerous. i do give bus tickets to peoples even though my budget is also tight. i also get my self involved and had an argument with a bully cuz he was bullying a hijabi girl. i still pick calls of my friends and listen to their talks even though i personally hate telephone talks. i still wear the dress that my mother asks me to wear, even though i dont like it but it was just to cheer her up.
and guess what my friends are also like that. sometimes one of my friend drops me off home, and until i dont go inside she will not leave me. an other fried is so nice that she can even give her notes on the day of exam. (i think i never gave it to anyone, since i never made any myself).
and i am still meeting some really nice girls and they belong to all sorts of nationality.
well atleast they are nice with me.
