Zobs, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about it and will keep trying to do the right thing because that is what Islam teaches all of us.
One time this older gentleman was struggling with groceries, he lives in my condo but I don’t know him. I saw him on the street and offered to carry some of groceries and we started talking, he told me that he had arthritis and was going to be in much pain after wards and was really grateful. I told him it was nothing but helping a fellow human being in service of G-d. Remember one day we are all going to be old just like that man, so WHY NOT help someone when you can? This is not chivalry, it has nothing to do with gender, and it’s really about following the true teachings of Islam. I keep my religion pretty personal, but the best form of dawah is through positive actions to help those in need.
