Asia Times Online :: South Asia news, business and economy from India and Pakistan

Let there be no doubt that China remains a staunch ally, and it is only natural that Pakistan remains true to Sino-Pak alliance. The quicker we withdraw from the embrace of death offered by US, the quicker we can excel with no strings attached.

So far, China has been a far better ally in all aspects in terms of both aid, and diplomatic defense on the International front. All this while US leaks information to various news agencies allowing them to undermine Pakistan in every way possible, while bombarding it with accuastion of insincerity from its visiting diplomats.

Then you have the Brown Saabs of Pakistani origins who act more American than Americans themselves. I like to call them outsourced lobbyists with no real identity, because they often plead the case of American policies without any regard for Pakistani interests. It is time they knew they ride a sinking boat, and China remains the best option and a natural choice of alliance for Pakistan as has been the case throughout history.

While American look for ways to insert mercenaries in Pakistani territory, including fortress-like embassies, our Chinese friends are increasing the number of workers and express a satisfaction over the security provided and only wish to increase development rapidly case in point Gwadar Port, and other various on-going projects. Sino-Pak makes sense. AfPak is silent suicide.

I do not believe the American peanuts (read Aid) are worth the time, effort, or sacrifice. Pakistani blood is far more valuable, and cannot be bought. Any politician(s) that feels they can outsource it, should realize they stand accountable to Pakistani public both within and abroad.

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

Yes i agree
China is a great friend of Pakistan
but i wish Pakistan and the Muslim world would also raise their voice against
Chinese governments brutal attacks against Chinese Muslims community.

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

Yes, there have been isolated incidents which are no doubt regretable, but I believe that to be the work of Seperatist culprits whose leaders/shot-callers reside outside Asia, and stir trouble from abroad. Namely the Uyghur Congress which has dubious ties to various Governments which no doubt would like to see a halt to progressing China.

Progressive China is in Pakistan's interest.

PS: The culprits of China are much like culprits of Pakistan namely BLA (with its headquarters in Tel Aviv of all the places). You do the math.

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

u r missing my point here
there are hundreds of innocent people
Muslims
killed by chinese government
brutally killed
and u are talking about regrettable
just like the usa tells the world about collateral damage
u talk about work of seperatists
i am sorry but
the progress of Pakistan is also what i want but not at the costs of innocent civilliance or other Muslims.

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

Agreed.

Thanks mate!!

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

None of the middle eastern 'Muslim' states would tolerate in their own 'Kingdoms' the kind of riots our Muslim brethren in China 'performed'.

Not outside Asia … some might be closer to “home” …

Xinjiang riot hits regional anti-terror nerve – china.org.cn

Having received training, weapons, finance and ideology from Al-Qaida, ETIM suicide bombers presented a growing threat both to coalition forces in Afghanistan and to China, said Prof. Gunaratna.
Shortly after the riot, Beijing targeted Rebiya Kadeer, a Uygur woman who flew to the United States on medical parole in 2005 and is president of the World Uyghur Congress (WUC), as the plotter and instigator of the violence.
The separatist group ETIM is driving the hatred and fueling violence among Han and Uygur ethnic groups, Prof. Gunaratna said.
The ETIM leadership, which is located in Waziristan on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, was responsible for a series of bombings in Xinjiang and other areas in China in the lead-up to the Beijing Olympics.
Serious threat to China from tribal areas of Pakistan !!!

you just cannot resist to mention also Pakistan
wow that must give u such an SHOT of adrenaline in your body whenever u mention Pakistan.
lolz

Pakistan has been mentioned in the report because of its actions .... not because of me :D

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

and India does not take any action
i really feel sorry for ur narromindedness

We’re aware the terrorists hiding in tribal areas get their arms, funds, and logistics including training from Indian consulates in Afghanistan. China too is aware of this, and Sino-Pak alliance will ensure Indo-US-Isro axis of evil is dismantled in a proficient manner.

PS: Be more concerned about your troops along chinese border, they’ll need your well-wishes soon.

These "fairy tales" are for local consumption only ..... China knows the reality behind these groups. Incidently even in Lal masjid case some Chinese workers were abducted .... or was there a Indo -US- Israel link in that to :D

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

The caught militants have been singing like canaries, and named India without stuttering. Maybe you've been feeding on too much domestic consumption.

Chinese are aware of Indian double-standards, and know better.

Alas no one belives it outside the borders of Pakistan ... anyway good try though ...... coming back to the issue ..... which RAW generals name has Muslim Khan mentioned :D.

:rotfl:

There is no Indo-US-Isro axis and the Sino-Pak “alliance” is less important anyway to China than its relations with the US and even trade with India.

Why doesn’t the “Muslim world” raise its voice first about the brutal attacks against minorities in their own communities? LOL at Pakistan lecturing China on minority rights.

China’s internal politics have nothing to do with Pakistan’s interest. If anything, an open China could hurt Pakistan because there is the possibility of it fragmenting, or at least weakening, like the USSR did when it became more progressive. Besides, Pakistan has 0 leverage on China’s internal politics. In fact, no country has any real leverage regarding internal Chinese politics.

Correct. No country will allow separatists to flourish within its borders for it threatens the nation with disintegration. If one separatist group wins, another will pop up. Notice that every country which has faced the threat of separatism or internal terrorism has cracked down hard on it–except Pakistan…

This is an important post. China and Pakistan have been close allies for decades but if Pakistan continues to be headquarters for Jihad, Inc. China will gradually reduce its ties and involvement in Pakistan. Why send 10,000 workers to a nation that is on the verge of chaos, which is killing your workers (which will happen if terrorism is not defeated because they oppose all so-called “kafirs”), and most importantly exporting terrorism and instability to your country and the region in general.

Really? I have never heard China buy this conspiracy theory that holds that Indian Hindus are calling the shots for Sunni Muslim religious fanatics.

Re: Chinese shun Pakistan Exodus

Vig, US does not give peanuts to Pakistan. Every year it has given Pakistan many billions of dollars, actually many times more than what China has given you.

wait and see

US has done more damage to Pakistan, than China ever intends to. Let the record speak for itself. The rest is your opinion, and you’re entitled to believe whatever you wish.

Above post addresses the same. US Aid=countless loss of lives=not worth it.

Chinese have helped Pakistan on many fronts including the building of nuclear plants, which will inevitably benefit the Pakistani public by generating more power and reducing the crisis nation faces currently due to load shedding.

In a nutshell, American peanuts (and they are…because the cost outweighs the “prize”) are not worth the Pakistani efforts. Politicians may be calling the shots, but general public is not too content, and would rather go without the American Aid. The American lackies (outsourced lobbyists as mentioned in first post) would have you believe otherwise, but everyone has their loyalties and priorities i suppose.

That makes no sense. China does not intend to “damage” Pakistan, nor does the US. What I said is if Pakistan continues its role is headquarters for Jihad, Inc. eventually it will pay a price with China as well. You are right that China has helped Pakistan a lot but that will come to an end if Pakistan does not get control of its terrorist problem. If Pakistan continues to be HQ for international terrorism, the US leaves, and Pakistan-based terrorist start attacking China and Pakistan’s government continues to allow them to flourish on its soil I would not be surprised if China sends troops to Pakistan to finish the job. At some point someone will have to do it if Pakistan does not, whether it is China, the US, India, or some combination of them.

Correct but these guys are told to blame the US for everything so they can’t see that.

:rotfl: and the idea that US aid kills people. Funny how US aid has worked just fine practically everywhere else on the globe…

Who elects politicians?

Your concerns are valid, although exaggerated. Pakistan is, has been, and continues to battle on with terrorism and thus far paid the biggest price worldwide. Pakistan is aware of the challenges it’s facing, and its forces are battling the foreign funded terrorists in the harshest of terrain with whatever resources are available. Recent months have seen success, and inshaAllah the success will not stop there. Goal would be to root out the extremists, their handlers, and get to the root of the problem.

these guys as in Pakistanis?

Pakistani people “elect” politicians. Who “places” heads of state in position vis-a-vas backdoor deals? US imprints are all over it, as well as Saudi. Dictators are thrust upon public, then politicians, then dictators again, and the musical chairs continue.

But that’s another topic. Lets stick to the subject shall we? You don’t like how China conducts itself with Pakistan, please feel free to open a thread about it. My thread highlights what China HAS done and continues to do as a trusted Ally, and it certainly outweighs everything US has or for that matter has NOT done in benefit of and mutual interest of Pakistan. Thanks.
