Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

China has been fighting a low level war with Muslim sepratists for 10 years or so.

I would like to know what do Gupshuppers consider these people as?

Heroic Islamic freedom fighters fighting an Aethist and godless enemy or bunch of terrorists creating trouble in China?

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

I am not aware of what they do in trying to get freedom, do they bomb civilian areas? do they kill people around? do they burn properties? etc

Also, how 'oppressed' they are...etc?

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

China suspects that one day they 'might' declare an independent homeland, so China in advance is taking low-level military action against them despite there's hardly any proper rebellion.

The thing is, world doesn't know how many Muslims live in China. Fifty years ago, it was estimated that there were 30 million... but because of communism, they don't allow any sort of specific research on Muslims (or any other religion) in the country.

They probably have alot more Muslims than in Hindustan.

source mercenary2k??

hypothetically speaking it would be not right, i know the chinese government regard the muslim community as an integral part of china

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

^^ Just posted a BBC article

The reason i am curious to this is because China is a very strong ally of Pakistan and so does that change perspective when China battles muslim sepratists?

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

Its a 2003 article, son!

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

Since 2003 things have changed big time. Who knows these freedom fighters might now be making small calculators, toys and watches.

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

i know what your getting at, but theres no real precedent muslims are not fighting anywhere for a seperate homeland from other faiths without other factors.

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

yeah:hehe:

Re: Chinese Muslims fighting for seperate homeland: Terrorists or Freedom Fighters?

Pakistan should remain neutral, in the best interest of the nation.
There are decent, gentlemanly, ways of getting your message through, without getting your hands dirty. We need people like Sahibzada Yaqoob khan who can form a foreign policy for pakistan and carry it with grace...

A totally ticked and pissed off China is the very last thing we want.

Although the present MMA leadership (as they pretty much represent the sum total of the ISLAMIC leaders in Pakistan - the rest are all secularists ;) ) would probably jump up and down for joy and hold halwa parties - at this wonderfull opportunity to yet again corrupt and fool the youth in Pakistan in the name of Islam and start recruting for Jihad, hold anti-government rallies, start massive fund raising campaigns etc etc.

Unrest in the name of a Chinese Islamic state would be an issue that our Religeo-political leaders would absolutely love to have.

Yah, Uncle stalker, you save that unrest for India.
