Where on earth did this thought come from, PBH??? We always disagree with China’s policy, we have for a long time and we always say this. Just our way of letting the dragon know we are aware it’s there.
According to my Republican American Federal Profiling Handbook - Chinese are ok, just have to man-handle the Muslims (specifically Syria and Iran)

China isn’t a Christian country, it’s a predominantly Taoist and Bhuddist country. Christians are only 3%-4% of the population, Muslims are 1% to 2%.
Anyway, because it’s Taoist and Bhuddist it can be our friend

As they say, there are never permanent friends, nor permanent enemies. This is as much true for the US as it is for China or Pakistan or...
There was a big 'hindi-chini-bhai-bhai' before China attacked India, who were so unprepared that many soldiers were in uniforms not fit for cold climates.
In another 25 years, who will need more oil, China or the US? Many on this board sincerely believe that the muslims get a raw deal from the west, because of the oil that they sit on. With scarcer oil and a strong economy/ army, China would use force, if required, to control the oil and gas.
Pakistan would probably need to chose between their 'friend' China and the oil states rather than between the US and China
