Fighting between Vietnamese and Chinese workers broke out

Re: China-Vietnam border tensions. Why is China acting like a bully?

Vietnam is deadly against China's oil rig in the waters of the Paracel islands which are claimed not only by Vietnam and China, but Taiwan also. China is angered by increasing Vietnam-US trade relations and does not want much US trade activities on the south China sea. Then their are some longstanding issues like Hanoi's treatment of China-backed communist fighters who had fought against the US in support of Vietnamese army. Beijing and Hanoi are locked in some other island dispute also. Though the present wave of strikes and violence against Chinese business interests in Vietnam is being shown as a public reaction against harsh working conditions in Chinese factories and low wages, but one can clearly see the real factors that are adding fuel to the fire.
