It's restricted technology, the purchase being an actual formality. Not anyone can just go ahead and buy it...it requires a privileged relationship, and is more give than take ($$$).

Well I am quite sure that China isn't going to just just "give" us the technology for free.

No doubt it's not free, but the point is, Pakistan now has access to it.

Pakistan already had access to AWACS technology, through Sweden. Pak & Sweden have already concluded the deal.

Chinese AWACS will integrate well & better with other Chinese A/C's - J-10, Jf-17. Erieye will integrate better with the Western A/C's - F-16's, Mirage's

Wow...during Zia's time Pakistan was seriously chomping at the bits to get AWACS...didn't know all these options materialized.

Amreekans are now offering Pakistan some sort of AWACS with tracking range of 644KM... I think we should stick to Sweden/China solution unless our Soy Bean friend is given it away..
