China supports India for seat on UN Security Council

Is this a slap in the face to President Musharraff by China? What is going on here? China is supporting India’s bid for security council seat.

and who to believe about New Zealand? Daily Times says they don’t support India’s bid, but China’s paper says NZ also supports India’s bid?

I am not surprised at all. Chinese leadership always takes its foreign policy decisions with a lot of thought. For many years now, China-India relationship curve is following a rising limb. This particular decision is in total agreement with the recent developments in china-India relationship.

However I am interested to see the reaction of so-called Pakistani intellectual columnists and leaders who kept telling Pakistani nation for 50 years that China-Pakistan friendship is deeper than oceans and higher than Himalayas and that china will always be standing with us against India. Lets see the spin in Pakistan media about this news.
