Children's Quran Lessons

If you translate the Quran for your kids to explain it to them in whatever language you speak, do you leave out the bits that you think may be inappropriate for kids e.g. things like adultery, premarital sex, menstrual cycle, details of azaab etc? Or do the professional Quran classes take any particular considerations? For kids aged under 10, do they even bother with translations and explainations? Perhaps they only focus on teaching the kids how to read the Quran which can take a few years.

I’m only asking because if, for kids above 10, sex ed talks (at school or at home) are considered ok then why not speak of it in the context of the Quran?

Re: Children's Quran Lessons

I don't soften the azab parts but other parts that they are too young to understand I may not go into deatils or skip that part. Son has been reading the translation since he was 8, so that's an ok age. He's 10 now and we are still doing it. His sister who is 5 likes to listen to it too but I don't think she grasps much. He hasn't done the sex ed bit at school yet. i think if he knew about then there would be no need to skip the relevant parts in the Quran too.
