Khala used to tell us Ishtiaq Ahmed’s stories but I never read them myself.
There were not many urdu fiction writers for youth. Ishtiaq Ahmed was the gem. Some others tried but nobody could come close to it.
You should try getting some books and read them.
All but Imran series! Aali pur kya guzri
Yes Ishtiaq Ahmed?s was my favourite during 1975-1978! Amber, naag and Maria!!!

Would reading Ishtiaq Ahmed’s novels at this age be interesting?
I read the following about re-reading Famous Five.
Re-reading the Famous Five and the Biggles series is not only disappointing, it’s mystifying .
Of his own return back to the Famous Five books he?d once loved, Rudd writes: I found the magic lacking, while the simple vocabulary and the old-fashioned and often embarrassing attitudes obtruded woefully ? We adults are left with empty words, whereas our children, like millions of others, are transported.
Rudd makes a simple but persuasive argument ? namely, that as children, we read in a quite different way to adults

I grew up with my mamus who had pile stock of Ishtiaq Ahmed books.
Actually our whole family had a lot of fictional digests coming at that time.
Some monthly subscription for youngest ones, ishtiaq ahmed for teens, imran series for elder one and for the ladies it was digests like Jasoosi digest, Adventure, Suspense etc.
My mom and khalas were addicted to those digests including khwateen digest
Good thread btw :k:

Pakka pata hai you must be reading Manto ki PG-21 writing even in bachpan na
eik Tot-batot bhi hota tha.
Or was it just a story? Yad nai aaraha.
amnesia
No idea what is manto ki pg 21
Seems like IT related, programming / biography etc?
Ji Ji Saadat Ali Manto was a Greek philosopher next to Aristotle and Pythagorus
kithay sar maaran
You sound a lot like boompatakha here.
And please ignore Holy Lota. He doesn’t know anything because he is literally too close to the ground and never left the loo.
Manto is an Afghani dumpling. Saadat means “lucky.”
Saadat Manto are lucky dumplings that are served during auspicious or celebratory occasions. The next time you visit an Aghan restaurant, be sure to order the Saadat Manto for yourself. :k:

Velvy, dont lie. You are making everyone confused here.
Batameez ji, manto eik brown khatti chatni ka naam hia jo gol gappon ke sath khate hen. Due to its khatta-pan its often recommended to those having khatti dakaren.
Since those getting khatti dakaren are often prego women with age 21+ thats why its called PG-21 Manto. Inni si bat. Bus velvy ka to kaam hi ghumana hai
