Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

Are you accident-prone? Did you have any serious accidents as a child? Share your stories.

I remember one incident clearly where I could’ve died. I was in grade 5 or 6, and mom was teaching me to iron clothes. I had gotten pretty good at it by then, so she left me to do it. The iron had a small wire which was bare in one spot. Someone had covered that area with a cloth and taped it. I remember my grandmother specifically telling me not to touch the wire. But the iron was too heavy for me. I needed to move the iron, so I touched the wire and got electrocuted for a good few seconds. I tried to let go of the wire, but of course, I couldn’t move my hand or scream. Luckily the plug was already loose and it came out in time. The iron fell to the ground with a loud bang. (Again, lucky that it didn’t fall on me and burn my skin). I fainted and probably turned blue in the face. Daadi ammi and mom came running, and immediately called the doctor.

Ok, your turn. :hypo:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

Ditto. :hypo:

Wthat you wrote Madz is not shararat but bewaqoofi :snooty:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

lol I never used the word shararat.

And hey! If anything, it’s my mom’s fault. I was still a choti si bachi. Stupid istri was bigger than my hands.

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

A few times here and there when it comes to accidents.

As for being in trouble, you should see my old college reports :hehe:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

in India, it’s a cool thing for young kids to get on the train after it has started moving. the faster the speed of the train, the cooler you are.

the railway station in my village /has had no raised platform…it’s a few step [5] before you can safely get inside the train. i and my friends waited for the train to speed up [almost 5-10 km/hr]..we started running parallel to the train and one by one every one got inside. i was the last one and i missed my step and fell on the track.

thank God i survived. i fell on the track while still running…i put my hand on the face to avoid possible injuries. i rolled over God knows how many times and as a result got bruises all over my body.

thank God, it was the last gate of the last coach which saved me from being pulled under the train and run over.

guess what, two months later we were doing the same thing again. stupid of me! :frowning:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

Ah, have you tried dancing on top of a running train?

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

Okay my youngest brother once stapled his thumb. The doctor had to pull it out (no anesthesia), and there was bleeding. Scary!

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

Mmmm yes, I was a very hyper and naughty kid. My parents had to put me in one of those baby leashes at times.

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

We were playing hide and seek and I hid under the bed in pakistan, when I was about to come out, I hurt my head and a screw went into my skull. There was bleeding but my dad took me to the hospital in the middle of the night and I was very pampered by doctor uncle, he gave me jalebis.

And before one of you smart once say it, I will just say it myself - proper life time damage :hehe: :pcg:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

:cb: Arzi wins.

ouch, that must have hurt.

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

why did they stop putting you in …

ok, story time :chai:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

It did hurt a lot but I “milked” it for a long time too :hypo:

I have done a lot of shaitaniyan but right now I can’t tell a proper story :hmmm: My mom says I tortured her so much, she was scared to have another kid :smokin:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

^ That reminds me, I got hit with a brick once.

We were renovating our house and my dad decided it was a smart idea to get the kids to lend a hand. So we made teams to sort the full bricks and half bricks into different piles. I accidentally threw my half brick in the wrong pile and went over to pick it up. :smack:

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

can’t do that because in India our sector has electrified traction. you don’t wanna go up on the roof with high voltage AC wire [25,000 volts] above your head. dun wanna be fried alive.

i’ve a video of a person, on a suicide mission, climbs up the train’s roof and touches the live wire only to get fried and turn into a burning and smoking blob but it’s not advisable to post it here. it’s too graphic.

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

My childhood was literally something out of the adventures of Tom Sawyer. I had the best childhood ever! I look at kids today and I see no creativity, imagination, or excitement. We had the whole neighborhood up in arms because of our harkatain. I was the gang leader too.

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

I and my brother were cricket freaks - we used to play in an open place near our house. In the adjacent house was a very khadoos lady who frequently complained to our parents every now and then…aapke bachche ne bahut uncha bolte hai , cricket ball bar bar hamare lawn main aati hai…dekho garden kharab kar diya etc etc… One day she was strolling in the garden when my brother launched a six which hit her window - man she raised a hell of a ruckus and brought the whole neighbourhood down…my parents gave severe dressing down to us and we did not play for a week or so.

but we could not hold back ourself longer and a week later we found out that she was not at home and we went out and played. My elder kept on saying do not hit hard , take precautions etc

I started batting and I went overboard with one shot and it landed in that aunty’s garden…suddenly we hear a loud shriek - we were like - she was not supposed to be there and went to check…apparently she was in the garden and got hit on bum

she was the talk of the neighborhood for the rest of the week

Re: Childhood accidents/shaitaaniyan

I was 12-13 and was doing tiyari for a picnic in the kitchen. Packing away food/paper plates/drinks/ice etc.

Was about to pour down boiling water in the thermos for chai; and ‘accidentally’ poured it a little on my stomach; Didn’t tell me parents; sucked it up and went to the picnic and ended up in a fever later than evening due to the oozing of the burn :-//

Still have a 5 inches long scar on my tummy
