Does any know if children under 2 have to pay for Hajj? If so, just airfare percentage or what? I’m really clues less on this.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Child Hajj Cost
do you think taking 2 yr old for Hajj is a good idea?
besides, you have to pay 10% of the fare. i don't think you will have to buy a Hajj package for the baby.

I think its a matter of personal opinion. What do you think?
You have your's and I have mine.

sure and fair enuf but as i see it is as follows:
-if you go for Hajj then your concentration and engagement should be arkaan-e-Hajj and ibaadaat. with the human sea during the Hajj, i wonder how a couple with an under 2 year old child will either concentrate on 'ibaadaat or perform arkaan-e-Hajj with total concentration and devotion.
you be the judge.

I do see where you're coming from, but I think people with children would be able to answer that.
I saw many families at hajj with small kids. It's doable. The toughest part maybe the night of muzdaliffah, especially if you have to take the kid to the bathroom.
We had a couple in our group who had two kids with them. They had a family friend in Jeddah, and during the five days of Mina, they left the kids when that family.

Good to hear ![]()
I understand its going to be hard, but manageable. TLK, any idea on what the cost might be for the child?
As KKF mentioned, it would be just the airline fare I guess.
Re: Child Hajj Cost
Hard but manageable. I saw people with kids last year, the only fear is kids getting sick in the midst of the hajj! Try to get the rami/stoninh done while kids is left with a reliable person at the camp, tawaf e ziyara and saee at top floor i.e. avoiding taking the kid in congested places to avoid suffocation.
KKF, I think taking a chance for hajj ASAP (as recommended that it should be performed as earyl as possible once you can afford it) is way better and important than to postpone it while waiting your kids to grow up and settle when you dont even know if you are going to live that long and be healthy enough for the journey. I even read about fatwa where women are recommended for going ahead for hajj even if they are nursing babies (either leave baby with family or take along whatever suits her) and that pretty much explains how important is it to get the deed done. Thats MY opinion btw

TRUE, but i didn't mean to wait that long...i had suggested that the kids should at least be toilet trained and a bit older than that...like 5 years of age when they are a bit more independant, not like babies who needs you to do everything for him/her...it will take your attention and concentration from doing what Hajj is all about, devotion, hajj arkaan and 'ibaadaat.at the end of the day, it's the parents' choice to take a baby with them for Hajj or not.
Re: Child Hajj Cost
believe me toilet trained ones are harder to manage while travelling than the ones in diaper and babies in lap are much easier to look after than the independent ones. personal experience !!! I took my kids along for umrah when they were 5 and 2 (the diaper baby was easy to manage), it was not difficult..now when they are 7 and 4, I wont dare plan an Umrah with them for atleast next 5 yrs ![]()
Re: Child Hajj Cost
That was my thinking also! I completely agree with you, when they are in diapers they are easier to control. Whereas children in the 4-9 age range want to explore everything.
Re: Child Hajj Cost
^ yeah..with 2 on board, I now know about ALL places with restrooms in lahore by now
just like a map for the loo’s.in Diapers they could be managed in the car alone
