You may be right. But again that depends on SHO's influence in that area.If he is influential enough,he wont hesitate to file a complaint and avail justice for the kid and his family.
Just remember ,the Sardar Singh of umerkot could even transfer officials who did not comply to his wishes and demands......That shows the power of influence........

Only one instance like this, which can have several folds behind it, cant convince me that Pakistani people in general are racist and inhuman. We are way better than the world around us; I mean literally the geographical neighbours we have. We havent been involved in such issues like the Babri Mosque issue which hasnt died down as yet, though we do not claim to be the largest democracy of the world. We have nt attacked any Muslim Brethern in the name of sect or whatever too. Well whatever we are, we are not worse if not better than anyone else. Such cases, true or foul, can happen everywhere, and they do.
Plz have courage to say wats wrong is wrong. It is not a valid argument that it can happen anywhere. It is inhuman and and a shame.

the blog was merely quoting what was published in a online paper called Dawn.com which is actuallly a Pakistani news site. You can see it yourself in the July 17th edition in th e'National' section.
What you people are missing just like the lynch mob is that some muslim sold his koran as waste paper and somehow it reached this boy's shop where he use the paper for wrapping material.
When muslims don't respect their own koran why beat a little boy up? Clearly the entire crowd was racist and looking for chance to harass the Hindus there!

Do not you people remember the year 2000 incident in which one hindu lady shop owner allegedly wrapped up sweet's and the paper cover contained some Koran versus and an irrated mob attacked hinudus in the locality and burned down their homes and hindus in the area had to flee to the relatively safer side of Sindh province.Atleast paramilitary had to be deployed to bring the things back under control.

True or not we're not cheering it. Its a sad incident & should be condemn w/o question. Having said that, I can say that we're still better than those who claimed to be citizens of the largest democracy in the world where fanciest are ruling many states & where govt sponsored pogroms are not uncommon.

When you are not aware of the very "facts" presented on the same blog you shouldn't really be commenting. The blog says that the paper was from a "textbook" containing verse from Quran, so it was not actually the "Quran" that was sold as waste paper.

It is sad that Muslims uphold the Quran only to extent that they would kiss it and put it on the shelves, they don't spend time learning and practicing it but they are gung-ho when they find "desecration". This same mentality was seen when there were global protests against cartoons published in Danish paper.

There is a lot of negativity in this thread and topic. The intentions are quite clear to start another Hindu-Muslim bashing meloderama which we have seen on GS in the past.
The poster i.e You gesto, should have posted the link or reference for such sensitive nature of a thread.

The taboo of "Quran being kept in ten folds good for only kissing" is an old conception and should not be used so flarringly because it is so dated.

In India’s eastern Orissa State, spiraling violence between Hindus and Christians has killed at least nine people. From New Delhi, Anjana Pasricha reports on the religious tensions gripping the region.

Authorities issued shoot-at-sight orders and police staged marches Wednesday in Orissa’s Kandhamal District, the region worst-hit by violence between Hindus and Christians.
Kandhamal is a primarily tribal area, where Christian missionaries have worked for decades. Almost 20 percent of the district’s people are Christians.
The clashes erupted after the killing of a Hindu leader, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, and four others on Saturday by unidentified armed men. The Hindu leader had been leading a drive to reconvert local residents from Christianity to Hinduism.
Since then, angry Hindu mobs have attacked and damaged churches, Christian homes and an orphanage. Some of the victims were burned to death, when rioters set fire to their homes.
Police say rival groups from both communities have attacked each other with axes, sticks and guns, despite a curfew. New clashes occurred Wednesday.
Home Minister Shivraj Patil says the federal government has asked state authorities to protect all communities.
“We asked them to take stern action to protect the properties, the churches, the life and limbs of people and properties and houses of other people also,” said Patil.
Police say the Hindu leader was killed by local Maoist rebels. But Hindus blame Christians for his death. He belonged to a hard-line Hindu group called the World Hindu Council.
This is not the first time that tensions have run high between Hindus and Christians in Orissa. In 1999, a Hindu mob killed an Australian missionary and his two sons by setting fire to their car.
Hard-line Hindu groups accuse Christian missionaries of trying to convert illiterate tribal or Hindu villagers by alluring them with promises of free education and medical care, a charge denied by the missionaries.
Christian organizations in India have asked the government to end the violence. Christians make up about two percent of India’s population, which is predominantly Hindu.
