Take a big pot, add some chicken (for yakhni you should use more boney pieces), onion sliced, ginger garlic paste, salt to taste, corriander powder, 1 or 1/2corriander stick, few of those long thingies, couple of those big black cardimoms, corriander powder, and almost 5-8 cups of water or more depending on the quantity of chicken you have. Let it cook on medium heat. When it comes to boil reduce the heat and let it cook for atleast 30 mins or till the chicken is tender and it tastes like yakhni. When it done, strain it.
Some people also add vegis like carrot, celery, and tomatoes, so if you want you can add them aswell. Enhances the flavor and nutritious value. :)

Anyone know how to make doodh ka yakni? it's with gosht and has a creamy curry.

ok for creamy curry...
heat oil in a pan, add some all purpose flour, whisk it for few mins, add cream, whisk and bring it to a boil, add the yakhni and let let it cook for 5-10 mins on medium low heat.

Edit: P.S. it is nor corriander stick but cinnamon stick.

seriously... im amazed on how theres so many gentlemen on this forum who're decent cooks.... no men in my family can cook.. and my fiance can boil water for chai n that's that.....
