chicken soup for the geek

lemme spell out the intent of this thread since my last attempt at a feel good thread in General didnt go well.

if you’re over 30 you’re a great candidate for this thread. please tell us what you’ve accomplished and how you succeeded in what you wished to accomplish. it doenst necessarily have to be career stuff, just your life, if it were written as an inspiring story..

ill tell you in another 9 years :p

Re: chicken soup for the geek

I would wish my childhood for my own kids and wouldn’t wish my youth on my enemy…

As far as success goes, it could have been far, far worse…

I have sort of settled comfortably in a job, which though not suited to my particular skills, I happen to like…

I :alhamd: now have the privilege to truly study my faith…As far as implementation is concerned. may Allah :swt: give you, me and all the Muslims the fortitude to do it in the best of fashions…

Just remember…It could always be worst…So thank Allah :swt: for the food before you and do not consume too much…

What is it, Ravage? You trying to weigh your future against others?

Re: chicken soup for the geek

thanks lajo

and yeah, im stuck and i know people work thru deeper crap. thus the thread

Re: chicken soup for the geek

I had the opportunity to fulfill long uni studies, which I did, there are not over yet but almost and i have to say it’s better do that young than after you have family responsabilities and a job too…because it’s tough! but :insha: i’ll have a nice career after that.
I have learnt some foreign languages and feel now confident to learn more as i grew wise enough to be patient because the process is slow, so can be frustrating, but I keep on waiting faithfully working on that untill I recolt the rippen fruits of my efforts…
i was too fat and had many muscles aches, I stopped getting the silly medicines given by one stupid doc, and begun lifting weights everyday…i lost fat, gained power, sleeped better and feel no longer pains averall my body…i am so energetic, I am never tired any more or feeling bad…(look at my signature now)
never ever lose hope!! there allways things one can learn in order to improve his life! work hard and your situation is gonna improve. and above all have faith in allah

ps , edited, i forgot that, I traveled to many places i had been dreaming about during my childhood…and I discovered many unfamiliar ways of life…i can’t hate different people now, i love everyone, because there is some good lying in everyone and if you carry trust, faith, hope and happiness inside your heart everybody start being nice and friendly to you!! it’s so amazing how life is nice to me, i thank Allah for that all the time

Re: chicken soup for the geek

hmmm, I havnt done much in life yet and still have a couple of years left to be a “great candidate” to reply in this thread but still I will share something that I consider a kind of achievment.

Well I have done my Masters in English Literature and I have done it as a private candidate from the toughest university in Pak. The thing that I consider as an achievment is that I did it without attending any lectures, without having any private tuition and without even having any friend who would have provided some guidance etc. I just read books and got my masters degree. Those of you who know about getting degrees as private candidates might agree with me that its not an easy thing to do, specially in literature. So if not a big one, I do consider it as one of my achievements in life. :bummer:
