yesh :D

Re: chicken popcorn...

Cut chicken breast into bite size pieces, season them with salt and peper. Beat egg(s) depending on the amount of chicken you have. Take equal amount of bread bread crumb and parmesan cheeser, mix it togather, season it with peper. Then take your chicken pieces, coat them with egg and then with the crumb mixtue. Fry them on medium heat till golden brown.

Note: They might not exactly look like what you eat outside but this is the closed recipe for homemade popcorn chicken.

Re: chicken popcorn...

^ I don't believe you, this is the receipe. Cook 'em for me and I will reconsider :LB:

Re: chicken popcorn…

Popcorn chicken is the same concept (i should say) as popcorn shrimp except it is chcken in bite size pieces.

Re: chicken popcorn…

**POPCORN CHICKEN (JUST LIKE KFC!!)

1 egg
1 cup white flour
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
2 small boneless chicken breasts
3/4 cups vegetable oil (or any other frying oil)
2 paper towels

Mix flour and Cajun seasoning in small mixing bowl.
In separate bowl, beat egg.

Cut chicken breasts in small pieces ranging anywhere from about a 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch in size, depending on how crispy you want (smaller=crispier).

Pour oil into a small skillet and place on a medium heat.

Dip pieces of chicken into egg, being sure they are fully covered.

Drop the chicken, piece by piece into the flour mixture, fully coating the chicken.

Test to be sure that the oil is ready by dropping a little glob of batter into the oil. If it sizzles and fries, it’s ready! Now, slide the chicken into the skillet, easily and slowly to be sure the oil doesn’t splatter all over you. Do this as quickly as possible. After about 3-4 minutes, flip the pieces over (pieces should be colored a light golden brown).

When chicken is finished, scoop it out draining as much oil as possible into the pan for more chicken and place it on a plate with the two paper towels lining the bottom.

This will catch and drain the excess oil so your chicken is super crunchy.

My best serving suggestion is buttermilk biscuits, mashed potatoes, and gravy.

Note the only or the main difference is I said bread crumb and it says flour

KFC: Large Popcorn Chicken

2½ ounces boneless, skinless chicken breast

2 teaspoons unbleached or all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon sugar

½ teaspoon ground black pepper + additional for sprinkling

¼ teaspoon salt plus additional for sprinkling

1/8 teaspoon onion powder

2 egg whites

2 tablespoons fat-free milk

3/4 cup panko (Japanese bread crumbs)

olive oil spray

Preheat the oven to 475°F. Lightly mist a nonstick baking sheet with oil spray. Set aside.

Place the chicken on a cutting board. Cover with a sheet of waxed paper. With the smooth side of a meat mallet, pound to a thickness of about ¼-inch. Cut into 25 pieces that are roughly the same size.

In a small resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, sugar, ½ teaspoon pepper, ¼ teaspoon salt, and the onion powder. Seal the bag. Shake to mix well. Add the chicken. Seal the bag. Shake to completely coat the chicken with the flour mixture. Set aside.

In a small shallow bowl, combine the egg whites and the milk. Beat with a fork until smooth. Place the panko on a small sheet of waxed paper set next to the egg-white mixture.

One at a time, dip the reserved chicken pieces into the egg-white mixture, making sure to coat completely. Allow any excess egg-white mixture to drip off. Dip into the panko to coat completely. Dip a second time into the egg-white mixture and the panko. Drop the pieces on the reserved baking sheet and arrange to make sure they're not touching. Lightly mist with oil spray. Season lightly to taste with salt and black pepper.

Crunchy Popcorn Chicken
made with Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend

2 Tbsp (30mL) Mrs. Dash® Southwestern Chipotle Seasoning Blend
1 cup (240mL) dry breadcrumbs
1 lb. (454g) chicken tenders, cut into small pieces
1 egg, lightly beaten
Vegetable oil cooking spray

  1. Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    1. Combine Mrs. Dash® Southwestern Chipotle Seasoning Blend and breadcrumbs in large bowl.
    2. Beat egg in another bowl with Mrs. Dash® breadcrumb mixture, stir to completely coat chicken.
    3. Place chicken pieces on prepared baking sheets, spray chicken lightly with cooking spray.
    4. Bake for 10 minutes, turn and bake a further 10 minutes, remove, serve warm.

Hey this one is almost like mine, except it uses Mrs. Dash.

Conclusion: This is no one right recipe, there are many recipes an all of them are correct, it is basically the concept and if you are creative, you'll have your own twist to that concept ;-)
