OK, pretty basic question really but sometimes my palau ends up either a bit too ‘mushy’ cos I’ve put in too much water or too ‘dry’ cos there was not enough moist?
What is the general rule? Is it like for 2 cups you need 3 cups of water?
Am making palau this afternoon for dinner so help is needed guys, thanks!
Re: Chicken Palau - How many cups of water do I use?
i dont double it.....what i do is that if say u have 1 cup rice=1 cup water+1/2 cup(half of 1)
lets say if u have 2 cups,
add 2 cups water+1 cup(half of 2 cups rice)
similarly for 3 cups rice,add
3 cups water+1.5 cup(half of 3 cups of rice)
My rice always come out perfect MA!

That's how I cook rice ...:).Since my nani taught me the basics,I've always done it this way.

Add water to the rice and measure by putting in ure index finger....water should reach up to the first line on the fingertip. They say its the perfect way to measure water when cooking rice....

I do exactly the same. Doubling the water will make them too mushy in my opinion. It also depends which brand rice you use. The better quality rice like tilda or pearl tends to need less water. Also try to boil on fairly high heat so the water evaporation doesnt take too long and then put on the slowest heat for 'dumm'.
