Chicken Lollipops Recipe

Ingredients :

5 chicken drumettes
1 tsp minced ginger
1 cube fermented red beancurd, mashed ( optional, all-purpose cajun seasoning is great too )
1 egg white
1 egg yolk
ground black pepper
salt and sugar to taste
cornflour
panko breadcrumbs

Method :
1) With a knife, pull and scrape the meat off the top to the bottom of the chicken drumette.
2) Marinate the chicken with minced ginger, mashed fermented red beancurd, egg white, black pepper, salt and sugar.
3) Set the chicken in the refrigerator and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
4) Dip the chicken drumettes into the cornflour, then dip them into the egg yolk wash, and continue the same with the breadcrumbs.
( TIP : Quick chill in the freezer while the oil is heating up on the frying wok, to prevent breadcrumbs from falling off into the oil while frying )
5) Deep fry the chicken drumettes on medium-high heat until golden brown.

These look yummy. I’m going to try to make them. Here are some more recipes.

Ingredients:

Minced Boneless chicken - 200 gms
Ginger Gaelic paste - 4 tsp
Salt to taste
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
turmeric powder - a pinch
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
tomato sauce or ketchup - 1tsp
Chicken Legs without skin and flesh - 6 - 8.
Rice Flour - 100 gms
Egg - 1

Method

Add the above ingredients except the chicken legs and mix them together and make them into a fine mixture and make 8 balls out of the total mixture and stick one leg to each ball from the center.Then Heat 400 gms of oil in a pan and then when the temprature is really hot, Add the Lollipops to oil with the flesh side down.Let the chicken Balls deep fry for about 4 -5 minutes each and then take them out and dry them .Serve them with Lemon and cut vegetables. http://www.blogger.com/img/icon18_edit_allbkg.gif

Ingredients : Chicken wings - 24 no's (skinless chicken) Garlic paste - With 8 - 10 cloves Red chilly paste - 2 tsp Soya sauce - 2 tsp Vinegar - 1 tsp White pepper powder - 1 tsp MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) - 1/4 tsp Spring onion greens (chopped) - 4 sprigs Salt - To taste Ingredients for the batter : - 3/4 th tea cup Refined flour (Maida) - 3/4 th tea cup Eggs - 2 Cooking oil - Enough to deep fry Salt - To taste

** Method :**
Wash and clean the chicken wings and drain the water from the pieces. To give a 'lollipop' effect, remove the thin layer of flesh and pull the flesh to one end of the thick bone. These lollipop shaped chicken pieces are available in the supermarkets or ask the butcher to do it for you.
Mix in the marinade ingredients (garlic paste, red chilly paste, Soya sauce, vinegar, MSG, white pepper powder, chopped spring onion greens and salt) in a bowl and add the chicken wings. Marinate for about two hours. As the chicken pieces get marinated, mix the refined flour, cornstarch, eggs, salt, one teaspoon of chilly paste and enough water to make a thick batter in a another bowl. Rest the batter for 15 - 20 minutes.
Heat sufficient oil in a wok, dip the chicken wings in the batter and deep fry for 3 to 4 minutes, on a medium flame, until golden brown and crisp. Drain the oil and serve hot.
Note: To make the red chilly paste, immerse about 7/8 dry red chilies in water for about 5 minutes before it is made into a paste.

redvelvet that’s not lollipop chicken though, atleast not what i’ve eaten :konfused:

The websites of the links that I’ve posted say that the recipes are for “lollipop” chicken. Perhaps there are different ways of making it.
