Pls give me suggestions on how to make a yummy chicken filling for sandwiches.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

don't boil the chicken in a gallon of water instead roast or bake it.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

Give me a recipe Lusi plsssss

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

I cook some boneless chicken pieces in a lil bit of water (very little, not even enough for the chicken to be immersed in it),with salt, red chillies, black peppers, zeera powder, and some chilli sauce(sriracha ??).
Then when done I shred it and mix with some mashed boiled eggwhites (or boiled whole eggs if you want),mix some mayo and make sandwiches.
Sometimes I skip on the red chillies and add some chat masala instead. It also gives a nice flavor.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

What Lusi said.

But if you want something quick, boil the chicken in shallow water with: salt, white pepper (makes the worlds difference) and chilly flakes. Than shred and mix with with mayo andthis Chinese hot sauce. Amazing.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

i just boil it with some salt, chinese salt and black pepper.

then shred it and add miracle whip and sliced green onions.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

How long will a batch stay in the fridge?

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

Add some "crunch" texture to the filling with the use of finely chopped lettuce...or celery....or walnuts, etc. Mayo is a great base for creating sauces. You can hot sauce, or soya sauce, achar, to the mayo. You can make give the sandwich a bit of tang...by adding a spoon of apricot preserves to it, etc. If you add cheese...maybe switch that up.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

Grind a chicken in any grinder add any kind of masala and cook. Delicious chicken filling is ready.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

Boil chicken in water with some laisan/adrak pieces. For some reason, I cant cook chicken without laisan adrak...no matter what kind it is.

When boiled, drain and shred.

For the base, use mayo.

Add finely chopped celery, red onions and I use red, green and yellow bell peppers. It adds color, flavor and texture.

Salt and black pepper to taste.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

I really like roast chicken in sandwiches - so marinade the chicken in garlic, chilli sauce, salt and pepper and roast then cut into smallish chunks and mix with mayo squeeze of lemon - yummmmmmmm

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

how about you debone and shred a whole chicken and freeze the pieces. Take them out thaw them and then fry them in mustard sauce. Add mayo, veggies, salt, pepper, mashed boiled egg and mix well.

Love this yummy filling. And it is pretty quick as well esp if I have shredded chicken already stored in my freezer.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

I don't like the chicken sandwiches where the filling is so mushy....you know where the chicken has been so finely shredded that it almost becomes a paste....BLECH!

I love the chunky chicken salad from California Chicken Grill because it's not just boiled chicken that has been shredded. They use a grilled chicken...so it adds more flavor. We have this mini George Foreman grill...it's so cute...that we use for tikka skewers. That's something you can do. Marinade pieces of boneless chicken in your usual tikka marninade....and grill them....shred them and the spices from the marinade will lend a nice flavor to the mayo...so you don't really have to add anything to the mayo...except for veggies of your choice.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

Sometimes i make these club sandwiches which are a hit. Instead of boiling the chicken, i cut it into small chunks. Put a little oil in pan, add garlic and then chicken. When the water is almost dried, i add sauces like soya sauce, vinegar, ketchup and chilli sauce. Also salt, black pepper and thori si crushed red pepper. When the chicken is done, turn off the heat.

Toast the bread slices in butter. In first layer, put a little ketchup (optional) and chicken masala. In the second layer, i put mayo, cheese, some tomato, lettuce and a fried egg (hard fried egg, no runny yolk). Serve with fries, always a HIT. :yummy:

ok now i want it!

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

i marinate chicken in salt, chilli powder or chilli flakes, some corriander powder, cumin powder, crushed lehsan, some lemon juice, tandoori powder and some yogurt and cook in non-stick pan and shred in big chunks. I use this for hubby's sandwiches for work. I sometimes mix in some mayyonnaise or if making in a sandwich press then some cheese or ketchup or nandos chilli sauce etc.

Re: Chicken filling for sandwich

Marinate some chicken with simple seasoning. Oil the pan, cook the chicken with lid on medium low heat till tender. Then shred, add other goodies (mayo/yogurt/sour cream, finely chopped veggies, herbs, seasoning, etc)
