Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

FYI

According to the poultry industry, today's marketed chickens are considerably younger and far more tender than they were years ago. Their bones have not yet matured and are still somewhat soft and porous. As a result, there can be seepage of bone marrow through the soft bone and into the surrounding meat.

When a young chicken is deep chilled, frozen ice crystals form inside the bone. They expand and force the heme out of the marrow through the soft, porous bones. During the cooking process, the tissue will darken in color. Although the appearance is unappetizing, the meat is not harmed when this happens

I guess the answer is freshly cut chicken, no frozen ones.

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

Thaw chicken and leave it out there till all the blood comes out and bleeding stops.

chicken can bleed, and even die in most cases when its cooked. this is normal.

I haven’t had the same problem since though…I guess it was just a one time thing.

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

dude, when it comes to cooking/eating/consuming meat, your opinions do not have any credibility.

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

um pal, i’ve probably eaten more kinds of meat by the time i was 5 years old than you have by now. :snooty:

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

Your opinion does sound like one coming from a 5 years old. :p

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

well that is my mind - pure like a 5 year old aww.. but don't be fooled, i am a wise old man who has much wisdom to share.. especially if you open your heart and wallet..

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

I just hope that he is not talking to me cause I am really not in that kind of stuff. :(

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

Even if it's fresh - I can bleed.

Microwave the chicken and the masala for 20 minutes before it goes in the oven or on the grill.

Re: Chicken bleeds when cooking/baking

Thigh/leg piece of chicken always ooze blood, I am not sure if it has anything to do with proper ‘zabihafying’ or not :hmmm:

Looks like you have been eating what chickens eat :cb:
