Chicago

I have to spend 4 days there. What can I do in those 4 days? Places to visit? Any museums or anything?

Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Devon.

Search for a thread in this forum on Chicago. It has lots of good info. I really don't have the energy to repeat all that.

Yeah, I remember making a thread on chicago here. The best city in the world :)

hmm, thanks for the help.

most museums, planetarium, temples, and some parks are in and around Downtown area of Chicago and the best way to go there is by train and buses. You'll enjoy it more plus the parking is pretty expensive there!

do visit the other thread for info on which places to visit..:-)

thanks CA, you are in chicago too, eh.

A good way to enjoy Chicago skyline is to have dinner at The Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building. Reservations are required. Ask for a window table. Be prepared to spend $75 per person for dinner.

thanks FG.

I need a little more info on food. Good Indian, Pakistani, Thai, Vietnamese, Greek, Italian restaurants.

Greek - Kostas downtown chicago and have a suburb branch in Arlington Hts.

Pakistani - Nice setting not so nice food : Bukhara (Ontario and Wabash)
Pakistani - Nice food not so nice setting : JK Kabob House (Devon and Rockwell)
Pakistani - Very good food Very bad setting: Zaika (Chicago and New Orleans)

Indian - I am not a big fan of Indian cuisine but you can try Gaylord in Schaumburg.

i think the museums are free on tuesdays.
you shud definitely go to the shed...i've heard great things about it.
never been there myself.

navy pier is nice to go to...and take the tour on the little boat. those are fun, i took one of my friends on that. we had a great time. as long as its not raining.

oh and definitely walk around on michigan avenue....all the shops are there and bloomingdales on 900 michigan ave.

indian food (i rarely eat at indian places) - but The Indian Garden downtown on Ontario i think it is, near Ohio...has great food.

i stick to pakistani food mostly. and i've been to JK kabob house, great food, not so nice setting as funguy stated

there is this really really nice quaint little place on taylor street, near ashland that has mediterranean food...and its halal...and great food. just a small little place.

italian - nice restaurant in wicker park (damen and division), called FORTUNATO. great food.

i've heard about the signature room, but you can go up to the observatory for cheaper, no? well thats what i was told. have not had a chance to go their either.
