Review :
An extensive dinner menu with almost 50 entrees is highlighted by a
number of kebabs, two huge lamb shanks dripping with a tomato-based
sauce and Fessenjan, a Cornish hen simmered in a sweet-and-sour
pomegranate sauce with finely crushed walnuts. If you're tempted to pass
on the Persian soup after noticing all the "doggie bags" (it's one of
two soup choices) don't. It's a hearty combination of kidney beans,
lentils, chickpeas, noodles and mint in a yogurt-based broth.

Things to DO Saturday - 4/10/99
Once you figure out how to get to Navy Pier, the options are endless.
Take a boat ride, after all, there are eight to choose from. Amuse
yourself. Have fun and learn something at the Children's Museum; see a
movie at the IMAX; hear some jazz at the Skyline Stage; feel the wind in
your hair atop the Ferris wheel, or bike or skate all the way to the end
of the pier. Warning: all the fun will work up your appetite, so you'll
want to hunker down and eat something before you hit ththe shops.
Consult our inside tips on the pier's treasures. Navy Pier is a
combination of old and new, noisy and serene, subtle and obvious,
educational and just plain fun. A place to indulge yourself with fine
dining amd brat. Navy Pier holds enticements for all.
The crown jewel of Chicago's lakefront, Navy Pier extends for more than
a half-mile into the swells of Lake Michigan. Located along the
shoreline at Grand Avenue, the pier beckons crowds of all kinds. Take a
seat on one of the benches lining Dock Street, the newly-built,
sun-drenched promenade that runs the entire length of the pier. The
whole world will eventually stroll, jog, bike or skate past.
Out-of-towners. Foreign tourists. Neighborhood folks. Gold Coast types.
Toddlers to grannies.
Dock Street is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day. All attractions at
Navy Pier are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs are available for
rental at the main information desk and the security desk in the Family
Pavilion. For more information on the attractions, restaurants and the
schedule of events at Navy Pier, call (312) 595-PIER.
