Chi Turbo Hair Straightener

My birthday is this weekend and my parents are willing to get me a Chi Hair Straightener. I’m in Houston and so far, the “Trade Secret” hair salon in the Galleria is the only store I’ve found who sells Chi products. Specifically, I want the Chi Turbo 1" b/c it’s the only Chi that has a temperature control option.

Trade Secret told me they sell it for $199. But if I get this card from them that’s keeps track of “buying points”…not a credit card…then they will take off 20%($40 off) the price which bring it down to about $160.

I’ve found quite a few online sites that sell it for much less(as low as $90!).

Now the question is…should I pay the little extra and get it from Trade Secret where I’m 100% guaranteed that I’m getting the real thing w/ the 1 yr. warranty? Or is it worth the risk to save the $ and buy it online? Anyone know of any other stores that sell Chi products?

Re: Chi Turbo Hair Straightener

I bought mine from Ulta. It's also on Amazon. And I think you can buy it directly from Chi. I don't remember the website.
When I went to Ulta, I also wanted the one with the temperature control, but the hairstylist there told me there was no benefit to that model since they always heated it to the highest point. The lower temperatures were for people who have really baby fine, blond hair or had severely overprocessed fragile hair prone to breakage.
