Chemical Peel and Microdermabrasion

Re: Chemical Peel and Microdermabrasion

Wish, its hard to describe but I will do my best.

The worst part of my acne - meaning the wierd bumps and scarring that occurred - was taken care of by the peels. My scars are almost gone now. This doesnt prevent acne from happening at all though.

Basically, it gives you a fresh clean slate to start all over again.

If you're prone to breakouts...look at the stuff you're using on your face and what you're putting into your body.

Cleanser: please keep it gentle, soap free, oil free, fragrance free! Neutrogena makes such a good one...extra-extra gentle cleanser. Having acne doesnt mean you need something stronger!

Moisturizer: I use a gel by Glytol that is (again) fragrance free, oil free, blah blah free, etc.

Sunscreen: SPF 40 by Clinique. Gina is right ladies...sunscreen is the best thing you can do for your skin.

If you have acne...forget fast food, soda/pop, fried foods and embrace fruit, vegetables, home cooked food and tons of water.

You will see results once you make these changes.

i took accutane for my acne and mashallah its completely gone. I dont have spots on my face but i do have slight pitting along my cheeks from the acne.

would a chemical peel take care of that?

Thanks a lot PS for such a detailed explanation.

So the plan is to get on accutane, as per doc’s suggestion, from tomorrow INSHALLAH and a month from tomorrow, I’ll see doc again for my monthly blood check up and other tests and he’ll send me to a derma to take care of the scarring. Yeah, in Canada, you gotta go to specialists through your family doc or else you’ll be paying huge bucks.

I do cleanse and moisturize and it’s the sunscreen I gotta pay attention to.

:bb:to everyone for being very helpful!

One more thing I need to ask...I'll be getting on accutane from tomorrow INSHALLAH which comes with its usual side-effects like dryness on lips, nose etc. Is there anything that I can do to keep it minimum? Also, how long this dryness usually lasts?

for ur face ask them for this steroid moisturizer... it will help keep ur face from drying out big time...
but dont use it unless u really have to.
and please please DONT wax... unless u want a wax burn

Please refrain from any form of steroids, please forget that not all creams/gels are suitable for people getting treatments done or peels done. If u're using Retin A, u need to stop using it 2 days prior to a microderm/peel session and 2 days after... Don't bleach/thread 4 days before and after the treatments.

Teelo, microderm is superficial exfoliation with very fine crystal oxide and milder than peels.. peels usually penetrate to the "second-skin" and u can see results in a shorter time span... derms suggest microderm and peels alternately so that the scaling/peeling is exfoliated during the microderm.
