**So what happened is that my lil bro memorized the 30 juz of the Holy Quran and today he was supposed to recite any surah in the masjid. So we thought that instead of distributing the traditional pakistani sweets..we should hand out Assorted Cheese cake miniatures that u can usually find in sams club. ** The funny or actually the terrible part came when we got a call frm the masjid informing us that our cheesecakes had alcohol in em!..it ws so embarassing! I dont know if that wuld count as a sin against us or.. I was wondering Y would someone read ingredients …?? well its gud noW we wont buy those NE more..but..it is just so embarassing !
Zainab, recently we came to know that most of the sweets and junks we had are haram (And most of the are sooo good, like gummy candies!!:( they contain gelatin).

NOWDAYS ALMOST EVERYTHING HAS ALCOHOL OR PORK(MONO SODIUM GUTAMATE) .I HAVE GOT SOMETHING THAT CUD PROTECT US FROM THIS HARAM EATABLES.ITS THE E-CODE NOT MANY PEOPLE NOW ABOUT IT .THSE R SOME EMULSIFIERS WITH E CODE ON IT WHICH IS HARAM,THE STORY IS.as eveyone know pork is very tasty so to get taste in a someyhing many people add pork to it so as it is a rule to print the ingridents some companies decided to put e-codes insted of writing pork coz muslims and some other religions dont allow pork .e471 is the most common .items having this code should not be eaten as it is haram for us
IF ANYONE KNOWS SOMETHING MORE ABOUT THIS CODE SO PLZ WRITE AND MAKE IT COMMOM SO THAT WE R NOT ASHMAED ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.
the thing is it is there that we should check if it is halla or haram and eat it coz i have read in a hadis that if u have a doubt that what u reating may be haram then u should not eat it.and it is obligatory on us to check it before we eat it.if u didt know it cud be forgiven once as allah is the most merciful.
crown 2005: i do totally agree wid u...we should confirm if what we r eating is permissible...and the code thing u r talkin bout is really surprizing..but how can a food have pork in it and we cant c it?...wouldnt it be too obvious?
