The manufacturer of Tootsie Roll candie has also confirmed that it
contains Pork enzymes.
enzymes are a minute minute amount of a chemical that are used to induce a chemical reaction.
The scholar i heard said that enzymes don't matter BC the example given is that if a pig dies...and it's body become dirt and that dirt gives nutrients to an apple tree...the tree is not haram..nor is the apples from that tree...
This brings to mind a visit we had from my dear hubby's grandfather, a conservative, lovely man. I fed him bean soup for lunch one day with crusty bread and a nice side of veggies and dip. He completely and thoroughly enjoyed.
Later on, I realized the bean soup mix I used had dried bacon in it !for flavoring!! OMG!!
I never told him but never served it to him again, as much as he enjoyed.
^Who says that Bacon tastes bad....It's just that it is Haram in Islam...If you didn't know about it then you are not at fault...It happened to me multiple times when i was in US,But then when as soon as i came to know of it,i used to throw away the whole stuff..
