When I was growing up in the 80’s i remember my mother listening to the radio Indian Filmy Music shows in Canada. Some songs are stuck in my head and I need resolution. I’m singing broken lyrics and tunes but don’t know what the songs are. Is anyone familiar with Indian Disco or 80’s hits?
One that I know is “Aap Jasaiy Koi” (or something like that)

Laila oh Laila and Aaap Jaise Koi are from the movie Qurbani. I love these songs and all the songs from that film. Jimmy Jimmy/Disco Dancer … ah, Mithun … bad outfits indeed! Janbaaz is another classic from the 80s with good songs.
Disco Deewane and Aao Na are also by Nazia Hasan.
Another movie which is a favourite cause of us kids at home are the songs from Namak Halal, particularly the songs, Jawane Janamen and the other one with Amitabh Bachan with the pink turbin disco dancing and singing the ‘ghungroo’ song after getting drunk.
Hey I still remember the dance moves of his two side kicks in their sparkling silver dresses and funky shoes. I love that song, except the part where Amitabh opens his shirt to reveal Smita Patel’s face. :yukh:

Man I know almost all the lyrics to some of these songs - that’s pretty sad
Aap jaisa koi meri zindagi mein aaye is still popular today. When I was young, I remember I used to think that they were saying “baap banjaye”
I think I am one of those losers who liked almost all the songs of Disco Dancer. haha!
There was another Mithun movie which had the song “Julie Julie Johnny ka dil tum pe aaya julie tu hi tow meri jaan hai” hehe My uncle used to watch that a lot and I still remember it.

LOL I have a friend who (when we were young) went around singing “baap ban jaye” as well until I corrected her. Then there was that other song Mere sapnon ki rani kab aayegi tu. She watched the whole movie, then asked me, who is this Geetu he’s referring to? LOL…
My sister used to love the song Shaayad meri shaadi ka khayaal dil mein aya hae, isiliye mummy ne meri tumhe chai pe bulaya hai. Does anyone have that song? Then there was Hawa Hawa ae hawa khushbu luta de, I think it was quite popular as well.
