Planet Mars will be the brightest object in the night sky in the month of August, due to its increasing proximity to the earth. The planet will be closest to the earth on the 27th of the month, at a distance of 34.65 million miles. At 12:30 am (Pak Time) it would appear as if the earth has two moons. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. The event is not likely to recur until the year 2287.
