i know...but, i quoted all the prices in the 'LOW' season. if you looked at your tickets, there used to be a separate entry for 'fuel surcharge'...now, after the price cuts in oil, they disguised the same charge as 'airline charges and service fees'...this means they will NOT refund these charges even on a 'full refund' tickets.

i paid $1200 Canadian to travel from Toronto to Delhi on British Airways in January 2015. in September of the same year, i paid $888 Canadian from Chicago to delhi on Turkish Airlines and now i'm gonna pay $1330 Canadian for travel to Delhi from Toronto in October, 2016.

O baba, your airfare does not only include the fuel prices. It includes the Pilots, flight attendants and airline crew salaries. It includes the airport surcharges, aviation fees, Home security fees, the hefty price tag of the plane that you are flying in etc. The costs that I mentioned is not gonna come down just because fuel prices are down.
The airfare has so many price breaks that fuel becomes a very small portion of what you pay.

KKF turkish airways had a one day sale for tickets to Pak/India 650/- two days back. I guess you just missed the boat

that was exactly my point...why are they so slow to bring the cost of air travel when the fuel prices hit rock bottom. they are too quick to increase airfare when the fuel prices go up. the airlines do that in concert meaning they are gouging their customers.
FYI, fuel is one of the major operating expenses of the airlines.

yeah, they had sale on flights to India as well…$750 Canadian $528 US]. those seat sales were not meant for travel in October, 2016.
British Airways has an ongoing seat sale for $899 Canadian $633 US] to Chennai [Madras] from Toronto and i anticipate same kinda sale for other cities in India in the very near future.
for me, Madras is too far from Lucknow/Allahabad.

I don't know where 88 cents figure came from. It's about $1.50 a gallon in Michigan, right now

But yes that was super saving conducted by gas stations. Same thing happened in houston which my cuz himself experienced and informed me, sale was for 99c.

The government should increase taxes on gasoline. Jokers are buying gas guzzlers as fuel prices come down.

Why are the gas prices falling ?
Crude oil, the feed for downstream products such as gasoline, has fallen from circa 110 to 29 dollars per barrel. Main reason is global slowdown led by China. Over supply esp from shale has further exacerbated the situation, as supply exceeds demand. Most storage facilities are full. Only place to store are oil tankers.
Refiners such as Velero have made a killing. Now that export ban has been liften, WTI has cauggt up with Brent.
