Cheat meals..

Many diet plans include a cheat meal placed somewhere in the schedule.

How should one incorporate cheat meals into their diets? (Include how often, how much, etc.)

Are some cheat meals better than others? Which ones?

Which cheat meals should people try to avoid?

Also, while you’re answering and if you’re following a certain diet plan which has cheat meals in it.. What is your favorite cheat meal?

I save my cheat meal for the weekend.. that's when I have my pasta!

Re: Cheat meals..

How much do you eat?.. does cheat meal make you feel any better?.. does it become hard to achieve your goals if you put cheat meals in ur diet plan?

Many diet plans include a cheat meal placed somewhere in the schedule.

Whole wheat pasta...low fat cheese...tomato sauce is loaded with nutrients and is good for you.

Grilled/baked chicken

Crispy oven baked fries as opposed to the ones drenched in oil.

I guess it's all about moderation and eating healthier versions of what you're craving. Frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, for example. Or low fat ice-cream. And eating a smaller portion.

Perhaps one can use the "cheat meal" as a reward. Like telling yourself that if I can eat healthy and exercise for 3 days...then on the fourth day....I'll treat myself to a "cheat meal".

Or if you decide to have a cheat meal for lunch.......then opt for a lighter low-calorie dinner.

Re: Cheat meals..

I find when I don’t have a cheat meal, I am fine but if I do have one, the likelihood of me craving it more, will increase. For example, I can go months without chocolate but once I eat some, I will want more of it. Does that make sense:konfused:?

I would rather have a little every now and then and have a balanced meal, than confining and splurging myself on certain days.

Re: Cheat meals..

i have my cheat meals on the weekend i have one cheat meal on the weekend.

It always is full of carbs like a plate of rice with salan or pasta or lasagne.

A cheat meal is whatever you want it to be, just dont go over bored.

I find it hard to stick to diets without cheat meals!

Re: Cheat meals..

i once lost a stone in 4 to 5 weeks, with cheat meals...i had a burger or some chips or even a crisp here and there atleast once a week. and i still lost a stone...

cheat meals is basically A MEAL....so thats not break, lunch and dinner, just pick one to cheat with..so youll have a normal breakfast, and say dinner, but for lunch you can splurge...

remember a cheat meal...is a meal....not a days worth of junk....

Yes, it makes sense. I’m like that as well. Sometimes when you get a taste of the food you enjoy…you’ll crave it even more and you can even lose control and pig out if your’e not careful :frowning:

A cheat meal is anything u want.. so u don't crave much of it while u're on u're diet. If u're not a high-protein diet.. get u're carb fix on u're cheat day. Have u're pasta/rice.

A small amount of dessert is also alright..

I do feel better after the cheat day :) I'm ready to go back to veg stir-fry's and fruit.. and aloe vera juice.

Gina, just the mention of aloe vera juice is enough to turn me green in the face. I have to say, however, that aloe vera juice is actually what cured my ulcer last summer, and much more quickly than the prescription meds I was given that didn't seem to be working.

Re: Cheat meals..

whats the aloe vera juice for...i tried it...yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

I know it tastes horrible! But it really removes the toxins and makes u're skin glow apart from all other benefits! ugh but the gel tastes gross!
