Skype. PTCL and Warid are pretty cheap too.

Localphone.com

It's even cheaper if you don't put a UK address and pay with ucash. But more than that, since it assigns local numbers to international contacts, you can use your free mobile minutes etc and calling is super easy and good quality.

Don't thank me, just ask me for a referral link so I get some free credit.

Re: Cheapest call - Pakistan/UK

Phreaking is the cheapest among all :)

Re: Cheapest call - Pakistan/UK

first of all...thanks

now.......how does this work??

a person in UK would use this service to call to pakistan right??

Re: Cheapest call - Pakistan/UK

Yes, person in UK would set it up to call Pakistan or anywhere else in the world.

There are two things. First you set up the numbers you want to call from. So I have my mobile, my husband's mobile, my house phone, my parents house phone etc all set up (you can still call from phones not added to your account but you need to enter your account number and pin if you have not linked the numbers to your account).
Then you add your contacts: for each contact, a local number (to you) is assigned. So for Pakistan I add "0092....." and it gives me a 0203/0207 etc number which is linked to that international number. Each contact has their own unique local number. This works for both international landlines and mobiles. So then you just call that local number and it connects directly to that international number. I generally use my free any time mobile minutes so the only thing I pay is the local phone credit.

You can also send sms to contacts using the site, which is handy if you are at a computer and it's cheap - 2.1p per sms to Pakistan.

In the past I've used Skype, the 0844 numbers, the VoIP boxes that relatives in Pakistan had but this by far the easiest (coz it starts ringing after a few secs) and best quality.

My dad and uncle are the kings of frugality and I have been telling them about this for ages but they ignored me. But last month they signed up and agree it's the best international calling service they have used. They are the one's that alerted me to the fact that you can side step the VAT by paying with Ucash.

Re: Cheapest call - Pakistan/UK

Viber works great. It works on Android as well as iphone too. So just ask both parties (UK and pakistan) to download and install the app and then start calling.

other than that, skype's free too :p

Re: Cheapest call - Pakistan/UK

it is best in term of voice quality.
