ipad?

I want to buy something for a couple that is in their 50’s .. basically for ease of use and convenience to carry around, I am looking for a little ipad kind of thing that they can use for their basic computer use.

Please recommend me the right kind of machine and I am horribly pathetic when it comes to making technology choices ..

that depends on what you are looking to do with them. These days you can get a mini laptop for about $250.

iPad mini is a good choice. Cheaper than the regular iPad. All the major companies have some sort of mini tablet.

Really depends on your price point. There is windows surface, google nexus, kindle fire. Like Twinkle said all major tech brands are making a tablet now days. I have used the Google Nexus (the link Tofi posted) and its really good for its price. Not hard to use either.

I think the Nexus 7 will fill your budget and needs.

Any Apple device would require setting them up with iTunes. I made that mistake sending my dad an iPad. Now if he wants to add any more songs to the list I uploaded for him, he needs to sync with my iTunes account or go a very complicated route.
