**i checked a wide range of possibilities and i'm afraid the fares from Salt Lake City to Islamabad in December is very High...ranging from $1844 to $8700...i think the fares are significantly much lower if you go from Denver or Lax or SFO in mid January and onward.
the problem is the time of the year you wish to travel and your location as well lack of airline competition to cities in Pakistan.
If you are an American Citizen and travel around middle of January, you can travel via New Delhi for about $1400**

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I want to depart on JAN 5, 2012 and return on FEB 25, 2012 from JFK to KHI . I want to fly PIA. The cheapest fare I have been able to find is $1260. Does anyone know if there is a better deal out there?

if you keep your eyes open, you will get ticket in $1200 of qatar airways.
but right now, you have great deal.

how and which travel agency? they will never sell a fare LESS than the web fares...if you ger a quote from a travel agent, you better check out their credentials. there are unscrupulous agents in this wide world of yours and mine :D

i always got $100 less from agent then the advertised one on airline website.

I agree. I travel yearly to KHI and like STA said, its about $100 bucks less.

**the fair of $1260 that Superdesi mentioned is NOT from the airline [PIA in this case] rather it’s a web-fare. PIA will charge $1333 if he bought directly from them.

Turkish Airlines has put up some very exciting seat sale for travel to and from Indo-Pak. just to give you an idea...travel between *Toronto and Bombay* has gone down from about*$1200* to *$980...and, the good things is the *layover is just about 2 hours** each way and yes they do allow *two suitcases at NO charge. :)*

unfortunately, i checked and Turkish Airlines is NOT having any special fares to Pakistan atm...may be next week they might introduce the same seat-sale that they have offered to destinations in India.
