Anyone know where to get makeup for a very good price without breaking the bank? I mean, drugstore makeup is cheap but I am talking about the cheapest brand that actually works. I am looking for a face powder to use to cover my face’s imperfections instead of using liquid foundation. I also want an under eye concealer as well. Also, which stores in America have the cheapest stuff? I am in the mid west. [Walmart is too far from where I am ] and I noticed Walmart is not always the cheapest. My budget is 10 dollars and under for the face powder and under 9 for the concealer if that is even possible. Help a sister out..thanks!!
P.S.- dont tell me its best to get department store prices because at this point I cannot afford a 25 or 30 dollar face powder!! Money is tight these days..
Oh and I love love MAC but they are too expensive for me..Anyone know how to get a discount out of them if possible at all? (worth a try in asking)
MAC's products are sold at a discount at The Cosmetic Company Store in various outlet malls across the country. If you have one nearby, do check there.
What kind of skin do you have?
You might want to try Maybelline's Dream Matter mousse instead of a liquid foundation if you have oily skin, my sister in Pakistan uses it and loves it since it gives good coverage and also mattifies her skin.
Personally I prefer LOreal's products (overall in terms of quality) but have never tried their powder. They have a new one out called Bare Minerals or something like that. I think Sephora & Ulta have samples of Loreal products to try on, so maybe you could visit one of those and try them on there, then go buy them from Walgreens or CVS.
Tip: Walgreens & CVS have those "Buy one, get one 50% off" or "Buy one get one free" deals now and then. Check their circulars online every week and go buy when there's a deal.
P.S. I just checked CVS's circular and they have Buy one, get one 50% off for LOreal's Foundation, Powder, Blush, Concealer or Mascara. Go get the CVS Extracare card (its for free) and get the discounted stuff.
^ thats only for professional makeup artists registered with mac. if you know someone who is, you can score that discount with them, but even after discount, their powder is about $20.
I have been to an outlet mall and there was no Mac :-( But I guess drugstore stuff will do for now. I went to Walgreens and Target and they had cheaper prices than Mac would but I just went on the CVS sight and might have seen better prices. Thanks everyone..your so helpful!
Rimmel, Maybelline and L'oreal all have good products. Sometimes they have discounts on their websites and always google for discount codes for the named brands. You never know what you may find.
i use loreal's mineral powder it's called bare natural i guess and i think it's amazing. it hids any marks on my face very well. it even hided one of a bad scratch mark on my face (i scared my face really badly with a hang nail )
unless you want a concealer for under eyes i think that mineral powder works better than any concealer i have ever tried. it doesn't do a good job for under eye thought because of the skin color difference.
if u decide to buy it, make sure u get a good match or your face will look ashy.
i'd recommend revlon colorstay foundation, well revlon is a really good drug store brand...and so far the reviews i have seen on net, many people think it is the best drugstore foundation..i also use it and love it...u can give it a try..still if u dun wanna use a liquid one, u can also try the revlon pressed powder or rimmel face powders are also fine.
