Most beleive beleive that being heavy is a mistake or a curse brought upon by themselves by chawners. But working with people trying to loose weight before transplant, i know how hard it is. Actually its extremely to loose weight and then maintain it. All studies have shown that those who loose weight put it back after some time, and ALL means ALL studies. Even desperate measures have not been successful in making people loose weight. People’s jaws have been wired to keep them from eating , yet they gain weight by taking high calorie liquids.
Its my personal beleif that fat tissue acts like cancer or tumour which produces changes in body in effort to keep itself. After lossing weight, metabolic rate slows down to try to conserve fat tissue. So yes, heavy people do have a medical condition.
Re: Chawner Family And Looking Down AT Heavy People
not true...god knows who these studies have been carried out on. at the end of the day, these people dont do studies on every single person whose on a diet....they pick like 10 people...here and there....
for eg...i know 3 people who lost weight and didnt gain it back...maybe a pound or two, but not entirely..
my own mother went from size 14 to a 10 and still is mashallah
my cusin went from size 16 to 12 and still is mashall
i went from size 16 to 12 and am nearly a 10 inshallah
my neighbour was a size 18 2 yrs ago shes now size 14.....and has been a 14 for a a yr....and likes it this way....
so not true
if i know 3 people including me who have done it, then surely theres more out there...
Re: Chawner Family And Looking Down AT Heavy People
i wish i can remember the thread title or the name or any other specific detail, but not too long ago there was an article posted on a woman who feeds her toddlers nothing but mcdonalds...they weigh like 18 stone (or were they 18 months and weigh 8 stone???..either way they were fat!) , she herself was 400 lbs, and living on welfare and benefits....
and she was proud of it.
now i dont blame ppl for lookign down on her..
but that family, i feel for em... maybe they really dont indulge as much as they say but who knows...

medical condition in terms of metabolism you mean? or medical condition as in they try to loose it, metabolism slows down so they retain it for it becomes terminal?either way it being brought upon by oneself isnt it? i mean how does one get fat in first place?
