Chatting/Email/Virtual Communication to a na-moharem on general issues is it hahal or haram?

depends on what u talk about....
i'd say that there is a hijab (i think physical distance does well enuff to qualify as hijab) between the two communicators hence it is acceptable if the talk is really needed....
but romance etc is definitely not allowed....
casual talk, friendly chat between members of opposite gender shud be discouraged and avoided....

talking on the internet is the same as meeting someone it s illegal in Islam. Please refrain from chatting or yuou'll be stoned to death for adulterous thoughts.

a hadith i read stated something like this....
reports uday bin hatim (ra), that he was with the Prophet (saw) when a woman came unto the Prophet (saw), and said "I wish to talk to u alone", so the Prophet (saw) replied "I will go to u to what ever street of medinah u wish to go"....
excuse me if there has been some ups/downs in reporting the hadith but i am writing it from memory so definitely it wont be accurate and no exact reference right now....
hence, in affairs of religion and tableegh, i think i can talk to a lady face to face or chat or whatever, and secondly, this is not private, its public address....
