Re: Chatpatti papri chaat recipes please!!
No recipe, but I thought it just depended on the amount of chaat masala/imli chutney/lal mirch/hari chutney that you put on the chanas and potatoes and dahi and what not.
Re: Chatpatti papri chaat recipes please!!
Make sure the channay are fresh and not tinned, makes a huge difference!
I would mix all the chaat masala, flaked chilis, garam masala and whatnot in with the imli chutney. I like my chaat in layers, as in the channay, aloo, red onions, tomatoes, finely diced green chilis together at the bottom of the dish, then imli chutney on top and then a little bit of yoghurt and then the papar stuff on the top with fresh corriander too.
Aw man! Now I want chaat! Uff!

^ that sound mouthwatering! will ask mom to soak chickpeas for tomorrow lol
Re: Chatpatti papri chaat recipes please!!
My sister boils millions of channay in one go and then makes small packs of them to go in the freezer so that way she can make chaat whenever she wants.

^ Thats what I do as well. My husband loves cholay, but i dont like the canned ones at all.

Hey...what's this papar stuff? poppadoms?
Do you just use shop bought poppadoms for the topping?

No no no, not poppadoms.
You can make your own papar stuff, or you can buy them. We make them from left over samosa roti, which is Plain flour, a little oil and a pinch of salt, make into a dough and roll out thinly, cut into circles or diamond shapes and deep fry. Let cool properly before adding to your chaat.

Re: Chatpatti papri chaat recipes please!!
Just a short cut if you don't have time to make the papaR from scratch. You can take tortillas, cut them into 1 inch diamonds or strips and quickly deep fry them. This will make do in a pinch, but of course real papRi is the best :)

Salt, lemon juice..whatever else you want to taste.
I personally do not like much salt so I dont put any in, just chaat masala, a little bit of garam masala, flaked red chillies and lemon juice.
Puchi, cos of you I made papar and I made my sister boil a million chickpeas!
