have some patience beta, I’ve been getting this error for the past three years 
okay, I doubt if it has got anything to do with the java software. Either GS chat server is not supposed to work for Middle East people or something is wrong with our network. Now I’ve called this guy at Q-Tel and he confirmed that something is wrong with the server but unfortunately the aunty who’s supposed to fix these problems wasn’t available at that time and since then has never been found (probably the uncle who was to transfer our calls got annoyed by our continuous nagging :p) . Anyways, check with Q-tel ppl first, they might have a solution.

SKN, people here have the habit of blamming qtel for all the blunders 
(i know they did lot of blunders in past laikin abb sudhar gaye hain) yesterday when msn was not working ppl started calling qtel… 
the digi chat works fine on the other forums, i’m sure there is a problem with gs server or they r using old version of digi chat. qtel has nothing to do with it no need to bugg those poor fellows..

I'm having the same problem. And I don't live in the Middle East.
its got to do with the proxy and firewall settings on your PC, that’s my guess. I’ve had this problem ever since I joined this place (2002) and it hasn’t been resolved as yet (and I don’t expect it to be resolved 
).
Digichat seems to work fine on other forums.. wtf is wrong with GS!
