Surprising since I heard that Premchand’s works are available in Pak(not sure if pirated copies). Malgudi days was published in 1943 and I was under the impression that popular pre-independence literature was available in Pakistan.

Premchand’s and other Urdu writers works are available as they are being published by Pakistani publishers since independence, whereas the case with languages other than Urdu is different
